The Wave Monster is the overarching antagonist of the 1986 animated film An American Tail.

Appearance

It is a giant humanoid beast made with waves that has a foamy beard, pointed horns resembling the spires of a crown, and a torso made of the ocean.

Biography

Even its appearance is small, it played a big role in An American Tail, for it was the one that got Fievel separated from his family in the first place. When Fievel purposely thrown his hat out to look at the fish, he got in the middle of the storm. Then, the Wave Monster appeared multiple times to knock Fievel over board, finishing off as one tidal wave. He later melted into foamy water and is never seen again throughout the rest of the movie.
