~ Treacheron's final words before his first demise. |
Treacheron is the samurai themed second general of Scorpius's army and a supporting antagonist in the second half of Power Rangers: Lost Galaxy. He the archenemy of the original Magna Defender. He was also one of the first archenemies of the Galaxy Rangers and one of their most powerful formidable and dangerous enemies and opponents. Despite his name, he was a villain driven by honor code, not unlike and in fact very similar to Villamax and Loyax after him. He wore a white and blue outfit with manta ray-like wings as a partial cape behind him and wielded a samurai sword.
He was portrayed by Derek Stephen Prince, who also voiced Elgar and Piedmon.
History[]
3,000 years ago, Treacheron was the archrival of the Magna Defender and in their final battle where they fought to the death, he defeated and imprisoned his foe in the planet Mirinoi, grabbing and throwing him inside a crevice that he then sealed up. Leaving his archenemy defeated and trapped for eons and thwarting Magna Defender’s plans to avenge his son ending their centuries long feud.
After the destruction of Furio, Treacheron took his place and was assigned by his master to seek out the Lights of Orion. At one point, Trakeena managed to get him to let her come with him on one of his missions, despite the fact that Scorpius would definitely be angry about it. When the insect overlord demanded that Treacheron explain himself, he lied and told him and said Trakeena had followed him without his permission. After the Lights of Orion were finally discovered, the samurai general and Destruxo set out to retrieve them.
Impostra disguised herself as Treacheron and convinced Destruxo to absorb the Lights' power. Believing the samurai had betrayed him, Scorpius confined him to a cell and he swore to have vengeance on whoever had done this. Treacheron was told about what happened by the Shark Brothers and he put together a little revenge scheme. The samurai general told Trakeena the location of a silver goblet, which she went to find, then escaped and prepared an ambush. Treacheron would have succeeded if the Power Rangers had not shown up and he was then defeated again by the Red Ranger.
Treacheron would have slain his former mistress, but the Rangers interrupted but during this he wounded Leo. Later when the four remaining rangers fought him again and were losing, Leo returned and together the Rangers used the Lights of Orion to temporarily incapacitate the Shark Brothers. Treachron decided to reclaim his honor by destroying the Rangers and challenged Leo to a one-on-one battle to the death to the shock of the Shark Brothers. Leo and Treacheron battled each other and Leo eventually gained the upper hand when he caught Treacheron's sword in his Power-Up Claw as Treacheron attacked. Leo then took advantage of the moment to shatter the sword with his the butt of his Quasar Saber. Leo then charged his claw and Quasar Saber and struck down Trecheron. Badly injured but not dead yet, Treacheron continued on despite Leo's requests to stop. Leo blocked the blow Treacheron aimed at him with the remains of his sword then struck Treacheron across the chest with his Quasar Saber in a single blow. In his weakened state, Treacheron was unable to survive the blow and he was destroyed.
Treacheron was later resurrected by Hexuba in the Lost Galaxy, but was destroyed by the new Magna Defender.
Personality[]
Treacheron possesses a hard, complicated and controversial personality which was shown during the series. He was initially a ruthless, arrogant, power-hungry and destructive warrior, who would stop at nothing to destroy his enemies, in this case Power Rangers and his archrival Magna Defender. He was also loyal to Scorpius, his master and would never betray him. However, despite his ruthless, power-hungry and arrogant nature, Treacheron isn't completely evil. He was honorable, honest and noble warrior, who possessed multiple redeeming qualities and it was implied multiple times during the series that he could eventually turn good and become the ally of Rangers, redeeming himself, but never had the chance to do it. He himself admitted that he hated good things, like goodness, honesty and decency, but this statement was, however, hypocritical and not entirely true, because even being a villain and enemy of Rangers, he still had countless redeeming qualities and was an honorable and honest fighter, who didn't lack honesty and respect towards his opponents.
Treacheron always fought honestly, never cheated and was even able to show some respect towards his enemies. He was also able to keep his promises and never break his word, even if it was given to the enemy. Treacheron also possessed a complicated relationships with his master Scorpius. Unlike many other villains, his loyalty to Scorpius was genuine and not out of self-serving and evil reasons. He was always loyal, polite and faithful to Scorpius, but hower Treacheron still had time to understand that Scorpius eventually betrayed him and felt betrayed by his former overlord, eventually betraying him. However, while Treacheron eventually betrayed Scorpius, because he felt himself betrayed by Scorpius, but he still kept his hatred to Rangers kept some loyalty toScorpius, and so it took many time for him to redeem himself. Arguably, it was his loyalty to Scorpius, which disallowed him to be redeemed and so he never redeemed himself, nor turned gokd. Eventually, however, Treacheron redeemed himself and helped the Rangers defeat their enemies, even if it cost his own life to do it in the process.
Also, he has many similarities with Villamax and Loyax, who had in common with him, being all honorable and honest villains who followed an honor code and had many redeemable traits. Also, just like Villamax, Treacheron can be in fact a complete opposite of the ruthless, dishonest and treacherous Deviot, who showed up later and never showed any redeeming traits, being in fact completely and purely evil and irredeemable.
Overall, Treacheron is honorable, honest and, despite being evil, still an honorable warrior, who stillhas some light inside himself and redeeming qualities that could lead to his redemption.

- Treacheron's name comes from the word "treachery", which ironic and contrary to his nature, since he is loyal to Scorpius.
- A banner with Treacheron's logo can be seen on Captain Mutiny's ship as well as ones for Villamax, Hexuba, and Barbarax.
- His Super Sentai countpart, Sword General Budoh, worked for Captain Mutiny's counterpart (who was the main antagonist) but in Power Rangers, he worked for Scorpius (who was made the main antagonist in the Power Rangers adaption).
- In the Japanese dub, Treacheron is named Shinto (シントー Shinto).
- In Seijuu Sentai Gingaman, Villamax is Magna Defender's rival, of sorts, not Treacheron.
- Unlike his Gingaman counterpart, Treacheron's sword was not given an official name.
- Treacheron is the first villainous general to be directly destroyed at the hands of the Rangers. All previous generals, except Furio, who self-destructed, always survived their encounters with the Power Rangers and were destroyed by Zordon's Energy Wave rather than direct combat with a Ranger team.
