The Mask also known as Big Head in the comics, is the main protagonist in The Mask media. He is the manifestation of the infamous Mask of Loki's magical powers once worn by anyone who places it on their face, The Mask is powerful, but causes the wearer to lose his or her sanity. In the comics, The Mask was worn by several people other than the protagonist of the comic, including Kellaway, a mob driver, the Joker, and even Attila The Hun, Genghis Khan, Blackbeard and Nimrel as Skillit mentioned knowing every person who wore it. The Mask is also called Big Head. Other acts of the Mask includes murdering cops and even robbing banks.
Mike Richardson created the basic concept of the character in the early 1980s as an anti-hero of bizarre nature. It was a mix between the Creeper and the Joker.
Although the violence of the Mask was toned down in the movie, he robs a bank like he does in the comics except it's less violent and uses the money to get into the Coco Bongo. Before that, he shoves up pipes into 2 mechanics' buttocks for ripping him off and they survive unlike in the comics.
