The Dark Lord will be triumphant the age of Uruk is at hand!
~ The Talons vs Talion.
You're the one who tried to save the witch's fishing folk. But you turned your back and we made them scream!
~ The Talons talking about how they killed Marwen and her people.

The Talons of the Black Hand are a group of the strongest and elite Uruks under the command of the Black Hand who appear as the final antagonists in Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.

Biography[]

Although the Talons of the Black Hand appear in the final main mission of the game they help the Black Captains lay siege to the Black Gate and kill the rangers located there. However the the player and Talion don't witness this since it's an unseen moment in the game. While fighting other Uruks and watching the Black Captains slaughter his family the Talons stack the Black Gate is never shown when the player is busy.

They are personal guards of the Black Hand Talion comes into conflict with them when he and Celebrimbor are on their way to challenge the Black Hand. They are unnamed but there are five members of the group each one to represent the five fingers of the Black Hand.

Aside from the five members of the group the Talons of the Black Hand have several minions in the lower ranks of their group who take their place as a commander if one of the high ranking members is killed. The Talons appear when Talion leads his army to Barad-dur to finally take his revenge on the Black Hand. As Talion's army battle the Black Hand and the Talons army the captains who command their followers reveal to Talion that they killed Lady Marwen, her daughter Lithariel and their people. The captains tell Talion by leaving the Tribesmen of Nurn to go face the Tower he left Marwen and her people vulnerable which allowed the Uruks to slaughter them. Without Talion's protection the Talons of the Black Hand easily killed Lithariel and her people they mention how they enjoyed their screams and torture before they killed them.

Since the Talons are tougher than normal Uruks the Tribesmen didn't stand a chance against them. during their battle with Talion the Talons talk about the deaths of the Hammer and the Tower. The captains mention that they want revenge for the deaths of the other Black Captains and their Uruk brothers.

Talion and Celebrimbor succeeded in killing the Talons one by one. However the Talons can be resurrected by their leader the Black Hand something he has done before for his captains in the past when they have fallen in battle longer before their encounter with Talion. After Talion kills every member of the Talons he and Celebrimbor make sure the Black Hand to kill the Black Hand so he can't bring them back from the dead. Aside from making sure they don't rise again Talion also makes sure none of followers survive to take the place of their fallen captains.

Aside from the Talons of the Black Hand talking about how they killed all members of the Tribesmen including Marwen and Lithariel. After the encounter with the Talons servel Uruks in the game mention about how they heard about the Talons killed all of the Tribesmen of Nurn.
