I added the tribe because despite many believing the actions to be justified it is still technically a "villainous event" and the tribe are cannibalistic - they are sympathetic (for obvious reasons) but deserve a mention since the film is literally named after them Chris-Wreckless (talk) 03:58, July 27, 2014 (UTC)
and it was removed Chris, listen - I know that you can argue cannibalism, rape and mutilation is an atrocity but let me remind you of something pretty important here.. the tribe were known to be cannibalistic and warriors, yet they largely kept to themselves, Yates and his crew went to extreme lengths to provoke them before the tribe (already warriors) snapped.. the mutilation and cannibalism was their way of "purifying" the evil Yates brought to their home. In any other media the cannibals would be seen as generic "savages" but compared to Yates they were victims : Yates treated them like animals in hopes of getting them "rabid" and he got his wish.. it cost him his life but trust me when I say the audience is NOT meant to feel sorry for Yates (if you do, fine - personal opinions.. just be aware it is a rare opinion) Queen Misery (talk) 21:32, August 4, 2014 (UTC)
