Sir Guy of Gisbourne is the main physical antagonist and secondary antagonist overall in the 1938 film The Adventures of Robin Hood.
He was portrayed by the late Basil Rathbone.
Sir Guy is the lord of Nottingham Castle, a charismatic and icy Norman nobleman who is loyal to Prince John. He pines for the Lady Marian and detests the heroic Saxon Robin Hood. Along with the High Sheriff of Nottingham, Guy taxes and oppresses the Saxons of Nottingham to fill Prince John's coffers. He schemes to get John on the throne. At the end of the film, he and Robin have a swordfight, which Robin wins, stabbing Guy through the stomach. He falls off of a ledge to his death.
