Shiki Kijima is an antagonist in the manga and anime series Tokyo Ghoul, appearing as a minor antagonist in Tokyo Ghoul:re and the main antagonist in the video game Tokyo Ghoul: Jail. He was a particularly cruel investigator who enjoyed torturing ghouls, and was a mentor towards Kichimura Washuu as well as the archenemy towards the ghoul known as Jail.
He was voiced by Nobu Tobita in Japanese and Randy Pearlman in English.
Appearance[]
Shiki Kijima is a rather odd looking man, being very rounded in physique and having a face made up of sewn features, making him appear like a ragdoll. In the past, he was presumably an average looking human. However, after the Jail incident, in which the ghoul of the same name attacked him, he had become deformed.
As an investigator for the CCG, he dons a black trench coat, gloves and a hat. His quinque, Rotten Fellow, is built in the shape of and functions like a chainsaw.
Personality[]
Kijima was very sadistic and bloodthirsty, gleefully slaughtering and personally torturing ghouls when given the chance. He would often mock his victims, as shown when he taunts the Tsukiyama family about torturing one of their operatives and later when he jeers at another servant, Aliza, before gruesomely killing her. Kijima also appeared to have a bit of self-hatred, as he states that he has no concern over what happens to him due to his appearance, and that if his body were more beautiful, he would care more for it.
Interestingly enough, Kijima was rather cordial and friendly towards his fellow investigators, praising his own subordinates and even saying a short farewell to Hairu when she is killed during the Rose Extermination. He was also the only one willing to go along with Haise Sasaki's plans which often go rejected.
