Seamus O'Reilly is a character in the HBO series Oz. He is the cruel and abusive, alcoholic father of Inmates Ryan O'Reily and Cyril O'Reilly. He is deeply resentful of his sons as he believes he gave them a good life and that they destroyed it.

Season 3

Ryan arranges a visit between Cyril and Seamus who cruelly mocks  Cyril for being mentally challenged.When Cyril asks him stop  Seamus slaps him. Later when Cyril is boxing Hamid Khan Ryan tells him to imagine Khan as their father,causing Cyril to put Khan into a comaa

Season 4

Seamus visits Ryan and confirms that Suzanne FitzGerald is in fact  his mother.

Season 5

It is revealed that Ryan had a sister who Seamus accidentally shaked to death while drunk. Ryan then organizes a visit with him and tells him he will kill him if he ever gets out of Oz.  Seamus also refuses to financially help Cyril when he's sentenced to death and reveals he cheated on Suzanne with Cyril's mother the day Ryan was born during a family meeting regarding the impending execution.

Season 6

Seamus kills a man at a construction site and is sent to Oz as a result. He tries to arrange a hit on his old love rival Jahfree Naeema  through Aryan leader Vern Schillinger but Schillinger refuses. Seamus then tries to Kill Naemma himself by stabbing him but Naeema successfully defends himself and puts Seamus into hospital.

Seamus refuses to see Cyril before his execution. After Suzanne gives him a speech telling him that he's a horrible person and that no one will miss him when he dies Seamus starts to regret his actions and asks to see Cyril only for Ryan to tell him it's too late. Seamus expresses his regret and begs Ryan for forgiveness, which he surprisingly recieves.
