Dr. Ronald Evershaw "Ronnie" Pilfrey is the main antagonist of the 2003 ITV comedy drama series Fortysomething. He works as a doctor along with his rival, the show's protagonist Paul Slippery (Hugh Laurie). He is also in love with Paul's wife Estelle (Anna Chancellor) and constantly tries to woo her.

He is played by Peter Capaldi (who also plays Malcolm Tucker in The Thick of It and In The Loop, Cardinal Richelieu in The Musketeers and The Twelfth Doctor in Doctor Who).

  • Ronnie is similar to Dr. Piers Crispin from the BBC sitcom My Hero as both are doctors and both are in love with the protagonist's wife (Ronnie with Paul's wife Estelle and Piers with George's with Janet). Both also are colleagues of the protagonist.
