Robert Boyd is the main antagonist of the 1998 black comedy film Very Bad Things.
He was portrayed by Christian Slater, who also portrayed the title character in Mr. Robot, Special Agent Slater in Archer, Michael Griffin in Hollow Man 2, Jimmy Dolan in Dolan's Cadillac, Ushari in The Lion Guard, Jason Dean in Heathers., Rand Ridley in Inside Job, and Richard Quinn in Chupa.
Biography[]
After one of Boyd's friends accidentally kills a prostitute in Vegas during a bachelor party, Boyd coldly and logically explains to the rest of his friends that they will have to bury her body in the desert.
He then kills a hotel security guard who comes up and discovers the body, knowing Boyd doesn't want to go to prison. The five friends dismember and bury both bodies, placing their body parts in suitcases afterwards. After burying the bodies in the Las Vegas desert, Boyd soon after becomes more sociopathic and addicted to killing people, and leaves a trail of bodies that culminates at the wedding of his friend Fisher.
Boyd tries to calm the two brothers Adam and Michael after Adam becomes increasingly paranoid over the prostitute's death. Adam is killed by Michael who tries to take out his minivan. Lois, Adam's wife and the mother of Adam's kids, she starts growing suspicious about what really happened in Las Vegas. Kyle, lies to Lois that Adam has been sleeping with prostitute's behind Lois' back. Lois becomes heartbroken but knows they were all lying. Lois is killed by Boyd and then after that, he calls Kyle to bring Michael to see Lois alone, but it turns out to be a trap. Boyd kills Michael and frames their murders because Michael was in love with Lois and Adam was killed by Michael in a jealous rage.
On Kyle and Laura's wedding day, Boyd sends Moore to take his position as Kyle's best man. After that, Boyd confronts Kyle that he wants to inherit money from Adam's life insurance policy, seized by Kyle who takes care of Adam's kids after their parents murder. This results in Boyd starting a fight with Kyle. In self-defense, Fisher's wife Laura beats Boyd almost to death with a brown pole. Moore accidentally knocks Boyd to the ground, finding out Boyd has got Fisher and Laura's wedding rings. The wedding becomes successf and his body is buried in the desert along with the prostitute and the guard.
