The Ram Thug is the quinary antagonist from Disney's 55th animated feature Zootopia. He is a large, sinister-looking ram who works for Dawn Bellwether and wears a dark blue outfit similar to a biker. He only appears at the climax of the film, and never speaks.
Role in the Film
The Ram Thug first appears at the climax of the film. Just as Judy Hopps (the protagonist of the film) and her partner Nick Wilde are about to exit the Natural History Museum to show evidence to the ZPD (the police force of the city) that predators are being turned savage through a psychotropic drug concocted by Doug Ramses, Bellwether and two sheep cops arrive on the scene.
She politely asks for the evidence (a case containing a gun used to shoot predators with paintball-like pellets filled with Doug's drug), presenting herself as being proud of Judy's success, but the latter, suspicious as to how Bellwether knew of their whereabouts, refuses and tries to leave, only to find the large Ram thug blocking their way, staring menacingly at them in an attack position. Realizing that Bellwether is the true mastermind behind the plot, Judy and Nick flee into another room and Bellwether orders the thug and sheep cops to stop them.
After a brief chase and game of cat and mouse, the Ram Thug catches up to the pair and violently head-butts them into a pit-like exhibit, knocking the gun case out of their hands and allowing Bellwether to take it.The Ram Thug and his accomplices watch without emotion as Bellwether shoots Nick with the gun so he will go savage and kill Judy to further demonize predators, but they are dumbfounded when it is revealed that Nick disarmed the weapon by switching the serum pellets with blueberries, allowing Judy to record Bellwether's confession of her plot on her carrot pen. Judy then plays the confession just as the ZPD arrive on the scene, exposing Bellwether's plot in the process. With that in mind, Bellwether and her accomplices are arrested for their crimes, and the Ram Thug fearfully raises his hands in surrender as he angrily glares at Bellwether for spilling the beans of their plot.
It is implied that the Ram Thug is sentenced to life in prison along with Bellwether and their accomplices for their crimes.
