The Queen Mother was the primary antagonist of the Alien Nation television movie The Enemy Within.
The Queen Mother was played by Tiny Ron, who had played Maihar'du in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
Biography[]
A Tectonese mutant, the Queen was born on Earth several years after the slave ship Gruza crash landed. The Queen was the daughter of a Tectonese Eenos woman who had been exposed to hydrofluoric acid while her mother was pregnant with her. This caused the Queen's mother to suffer what appeared to be a miscarriage before the pod was transferred to a male Newcomer, however the Queen survived.
The Queen grew rapidly, becoming an adult within a couple years. She was a large individual, towering over other Newcomers. She had a long, muscular tongue that she could use to inflict pain on others.
As the Eenos were shunned by their fellow Tectonese the Queen's vision of dominating all life on Earth with the Eenos as her priests was attractive to some Eenos, and they began serving her. Some of the other Eenos who had set up their own community in the California desert began having visions of her destroying human civilization on Earth.
She soon began taking baby Newcomers from their mothers at the transfer to male stage of the pregnancy, and feeding them large amounts of hydrofluoric acid to mutate them. The Queen set up hatcheries in abandoned tunnels which held her mutant offspring.
When a young Eenos woman escaped from the waste reclamation plant where she was being held, and died after being hit by a car, LAPD detectives George Francisco and Matthew Sikes began digging deeper into the situation. Another young Eenos woman also escaped. Taking her to the desert Eenos community the Eenos leader warned the humans about the danger the Queen Mother represented.
Francisco and Sikes went to the plant to confront the Queen Mother. While there they found the hatchery where they saw thousands of mutants hatching out of their eggs. When the Eenos in league with the Queen Mother stumbled on the hatchery, they realized the Queen Mother had no use for them. Working with Francisco and Sikes, they flooded the plant with salt water, which dissolved the mutant Newcomers and the Queen Mother.
