The Priarie Woman is the mythological antagonist of the legend of Charlie Noonan. He was a folklorist who collected American urban legends and creepy stories. Once he was told of a woman who lived all alone on the priarie by a local farmer in Oklahoma, and he was told by the farmer that the old woman was not human, but some demon or monster that concealed her face under a shawl and was never seen without a large predatory dog. Charlie Noonan was interested of this so he went out to look for the old woman. But, in inevtiable urban legend style, he was never seen again. But his camera was found some time later. The picture comes from the seconds before his disappearence.
