Neo Saiba

Neo Saiba is one of the main antagonists of Digimon V-Tamer 01. After his sister's accident, Saiba lost cares of anything to do with humans, digimon, or the world as it existed. His goal is to raise Arkadimon into the most powerful controllable form possible and use it to create a world where his sister can never be injured again. His main digimon are MetalGreymon, Devimon, Ogremon, Kokatorimon, Kuwagamon, Cherrymon, Deathmon, Arukadhimon and Gryphmon.

Biography[]

Neo is one of the best tamers of digimon, and he took great pride in his perfect win record. To maintain that record he immediately deleted digimon of his that lost, such as with his Greymon. He developed a deep hatred of the human protagonist Taichi Yagami and his digimon partner Zeromaru when Zero was able to battle one of Neo's prized digimon to a draw, which was supposed to be impossible.

When Lord HolyAngemon brought Taichi into the Digimon World to put a stop to Daemon's war on the continent of Folder, Lord Daemon in turn brought Neo Saiba into the Digimon world to raise his child Arkadimon into a controllable Super Ultimate Digimon that would help Daemon bring his war to the human world. Partnering with an Ogremon and Devimon, Neo proved his worth by destroying Daemon's treacherous general Etemonkey, and then set about settling his grudges with Taichi, Zero, and his old Greymon.

Greymon had managed to pull himself together after Neo deleted him, wind up in the Digimon World, and illegally upgrade himself into MetalGreymon. Neo's first order of business was getting MetalGreymon killed in battle with Zeromaru while using the fight to test Zero's attributes. However, Zero was able to once again fight Neo's prized Digimon, Devimon and Ogremon in this case, to a draw, even after Neo used jogress evolution to combine them into SkullSatamon.

Undaunted, Neo abandoned SkullSatamon in favor of a Kokatorimon and Kuwagamon, whom he lured Zeromaru into battle with and somewhat illogically jogressed into a Megadramon. Zero was able to defeat Megadramon thanks to Taichi predicting his movements and telling Zero when and where to strike but Neo countered by jogressing a Cherrymon from Daemon's army with the damaged Megadramon into the demonic Deathmon. An ultimate level six digimon to Zeromaru's adult level four, the battle with Deathmon seemed hopeless as he threw Taichi and Zero to their deaths, but Zero had been putting off an evolution of his own, and through a combination of evolving to the perfect level five and smart strategy from Taichi, Zero was finally able to hand one of Neo's prized monsters a decisive loss.

Unable to accept that Taich was a better tamer, Neo declared Taichi and Zero bugs in the system to be deleted and set about creating new monsters, conducting raids with Daemon's army, bringing in more human tamers and even feeding Lord Daemon himself to Arkadimon all to lead to a third and decisive match with Taichi that Zero could not win no matter what tactics Taichi could come up with. Having finally beaten Zero, Neo ordered Arkadimon to make his death as slow and agonizing as possible before setting out to destroy all of Taichi's allies in the Digimon World and then destroy the Digimon World itself.

Neo's behavior alienated his human allies however, and working alongside the Digimon in Lord HolyAngemon's service who had managed to survive Neo and Arkadimon's rampage, they got Zeromaru the necessary medical care to survive. During the second round between Zero and Arkadimon, both evolved, Zero to level six and Arkadimon to the fabled level seven. Thanks to Taichi figuring out the timing of Arkadimon's attacks Zero was able to fight the higher level Digimon to a standstill, but the strength of Arkadimon's attacks still threatened to erode the Digimon World away. Distressed at what she was seeing, Neo's own sister Rei Saiba publicly took the blame for her brother's actions and attempted to kill herself to stop him. Though Zero prevented her suicide, the sight of it caused to Neo lose the will to keep fighting. This caused Arkadimon to revert to level six and become docile. However, Daemon had managed to survive inside his child and when Arkadimon became placid Daemon was able to cannibalize Arkadimon from the inside and himself evolve to level seven.

This was the beginning of the end of Neo Saiba as a villain, as he realized he had been infected by the same virus Daemon had been using to manipulate digimon, had advanced Daemon's goal for a level seven to have entry into the human world and that his motives my not have been entirely his own. Neo ultimately decided to aid Taichi in helping Zero defeat Daemon and prevent him from infecting the human world with his virus. Then Neo left to the human world with his sister to avoid facing the digimon he had tormented and terrorized.
