Mizuki Rashoujin is the main antagonist and final boss of Samurai Shodown II and the archenemy of Nakoruru. She is an evil spirit who wants to bring the evil god into our world to plunge it into eternal doom. Her grudge turned her into a bitter and wicked soul. She lives to make others suffer.
Biography[]
Mizuki, a victim of the tragic practice of familial abandonment during times of impoverishment in Northeast Asia, was cast into the forest by her own family when she was just a child. This heart-wrenching experience embittered her, fostering a deep hatred not only for her family but for all of humanity. As hunger claimed her life, her dying wish was the destruction of the very humanity that had brought her to such a desperate state.
In death, Mizuki's spirit entered a pact with Ambrosia, the Evil God of Makai, transforming into a vengeful demon with plans to wreak havoc on the human world. Over eight centuries, she unleashed disasters worldwide, requiring the exchange of bodies to fully utilize her powers. A formidable Shinto priestess named Bizuki, seeking to cleanse Mizuki's soul, challenged her after 800 years.
Despite Mizuki's great powers, she prevailed, taking possession of Bizuki's body and entering a hibernation to accumulate strength. Two hundred years later, she awoke, aiming to summon Ambrosia after Amakusa's failed attempt. Mizuki sealed Amakusa in a tomb to prevent interference, dispatched minions and mercenaries to achieve her goals, and stole both the Palenke Stone (which was used by Amakusa previously) and the Tangil Stone for the unholy ritual.
Amakusa, freed from his seal, and freed from his evil side, tried to protect the warriors whose souls were targeted, prompting Mizuki's wrath. She manages to defeat Amakusa, but faced resistance from warriors, including Haohmaru, who defeated her with the assistance of Kyoshiro Senryo, Jubei Yagyu, and Neinhalt Sieger, thwarting her ritual and sealing her into Makai.
Mizuki's soul was then absorbed by Verse, and upon the latter's defeat, resumed her onslaught in the present. Haohmaru, Nakoruru, and Darli Dagger intervened, choosing a different approach. Instead of defeating her, they proposed showing Mizuki the modern world, an idea met with initial dismay and protest.
Surprisingly, this act weakened Ambrosia's influence, restoring Mizuki's humanity. The once-vengeful demon now had the chance to experience a changed world, thanks to the compassion of Nakoruru, Haohmaru, and Darli Dagger.
