Midnight's Fire is a villain in the Marvel universe.
During the Vietnam War, an American recon partol in Cambodia came across an ancient temple of a cult called the Draon's Breath. This temple had been hidden for centuries. It was built on a well-spring of raw, primal energy called the "Well of All Things". The inhabitants decided to create a superior race that would one day unite the ways of the west. The members of the recon patrol would be the fathers of the first children of this new race. One of these men was Andrew Chord, who was later to become Midnight Fire's father.
Midnight's Fire and his sister Silhouette were the only children of Andrew Chord. Silhouette and Midnight's Fire operated as vigilantes in New York City when they met Dwayne before he became the vigilante known as Night Trasher. The three started an effort to take down various New York City street gangs.
This partnership ended when Silhouette was shot and paralyzed from the legs down in a sting that went wrong. Midnight's Fire blamed Dwayne and became a cop killer and druglord in order to lure Dwayne into a confrontation he couldn't win. The partially paralized Silhouette reunited with Dwayne, distancing herself from her brother's evil.
Diego Cassias was one of the other members of the recon squad. He started calling himself the Left Hand, and he stole the power of the Well from his child. He then gathered the other children, including Midnight's Fire, into a group called the Folding Circle. The Circle attempted to take control of the Well away from Tai. The Circle succeeded in defeating Tai, but the Well was sealed. Cassias and Tai were both killed, and the surviving members of the Circle escaped.
The remaining members of the Folding Circle crashed in Madripoor and attempted to take the role of a local druglord, which was then held by Aardwolf, a mutant crimelord. They succeeded but were later taken down by Night Trasher and Silhouette.
Powers and Abilities
Thanks to the Well of All Things, Midnight's Fire has enhanced speed, agility, strenth and sensory perception. He is also an unparalleled martial artist. This combination makes him a deadly threat.
