And those who oppose our rule, die!
~ Tyrannus while giving a speech to his Sleg Army.

Lord Tyrannus is the overarching antagonist of Turok: Evolution who leads the Sleg Army towards a genocidal crusade against the human civilizations throughout the Lost Land.

Biography[]

Throughout the game, Tal'Set can witness countless situations where Slegs are harassing and murdering tribesmen for practically no reason, all under the orders of Lord Tyrannus.

At some point, learning of Captain Tobias Bruckner's savagery matching his, he employs him as a member of the Sleg Army and even grants him a cybernetic arm; allowing him to command sects of the Sleg Army so he can deal with the threat of Tal'Set and assist in the genocide of the human race.

Later in the game, his army lays siege upon an unnamed city and wipes out countless citizens, resulting in a situation so awful that the senate members made the choice to allow the city to collapse and fall, sacrificing potentially millions of lives.

Later in the game, Tyrannus bioengineers the Juggernaut, a colossal super bioweapon that Tyrannus himself controls with intent to obliterate the city of Galyana and finish off the surviving human forces that oppose his rule. When Tal'Set manages to destroy the Juggernaut, Tyrannus taunts both him and Tarkeen before escaping.

At the end of the game, he is seen roaring; clearly enraged over the defeat of his army at the hands of Tal'Set.

Trivia[]

  • Lord Tyrannus remains undefeated by the ending of the game, largely implying that Tyrannus may have been intended to appear in the cancelled sequel to Turok: Evolution; its unknown if he would have stayed evil or if he would have continued being the main antagonist.
