You face Jaraxxus! Eredar Lord of the Burning Legion!
„
~ Jaraxxus' most famous quote
Lord Jaraxxus is an antagonist in Warcraft, being a minor if very famous enemy in Wrath of the Lich King and again in Legion. An extremely powerful Eredar Lord of the Burning Legion, Jaraxxus is summoned by the Gnome Warlock Willfred Fizzlebang on accident during the Trial of the Crusader. Originally intending to summon a Doomguard, it is implied that the summoning failed due to Fizzlebang leaving behind a crucial item at home, resulting in Jaraxxus being summoned instead and immediately brutally murdering him. A high ranking member of the Legion, Jaraxxus is able to summon hordes of demons to his command as well as devastate his opponents with terrible magics. He would go on to become a mascot of sorts for things related to Warlocks and the Burning Legion.
As the Eredar are among the, if not very first members of The Burning Legion (being the original Draenei), Jaraxxus, then known as Jarasum, was present for his people's downfall and seduction by Sargeras. One of Archimonde's most favored pupils, he is one of the original generals of the demonic horde, befitting his title of Eredar Lord. The Legion would bring death and destruction across the cosmos for millennia, yet Jaraxxus did not partake in their first and second invasions of Azeroth. It wasn't until the war against Arthas and The Scourge that Jaraxxus would even arrive on Azeroth, in an accident at that.
Seeking to test and better prepare the heroes for the direct assault against Icecrown Citadel, Tirion Fording hosted the Trial of the Crusader. There the heroes would face fearsome beasts but prevailed. They were next meant to fight a "fearsome Doomguard", brought forth by Grand Warlock Wilfred Fizzlebang, however, due to Fizzlebang accidentally leaving behind his Sigil of Superior Summoning at home, the ritual went horribly wrong. Instead of a easily controlled Doomguard, the Eredar Lord was summoned to Azeroth. Immediately killing the gnome for his arrogance at thinking he could possibly control such a powerful demon, Jaraxxus then turned his attention to the heroes, but would ultimately be slain. Due to his nature as a demon though, death was not permanent. His soul would return to the Twisting Nether and eventually to Argus for his body to be made anew.
Several years later upon the Broken Shore, Jaraxxus would be among the host of elite demons summoned by Gul'dan. Since Jaraxxus would not be engaged again despite this, he remains alive and his current whereabouts are unknown.
Personality[]
“
FLESH FROM BONE!
„
The Eredar are noted for being amongst the most evil and sadistic members of the Legion. Jaraxxus utterly detests mortals and takes great enjoyment in killing them in excruciating ways. He is also extremely loud and boastful and considers his enemies nothing more than insects fitting only to be swatted away by his might. Jaraxxus' faith in the Legion is absolute; Even when defeated, he was confident Azeroth would still be destroyed in time.
Although not canon, Hearthstone adds significant more personality to Jaraxxus while retaining his loud demeanor. He loves karaoke and can sing very well (at least according to a certain few) and is quite happy to mingle with his enemies at parties. There is also his mechademon counterpart Mecha-Jaraxxus, who believes machines to be superior and that flesh must be eradicated or assimilated.
Quotes[]
“

Trivia[]
Despite his relatively minor role in the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, Jaraxxus instantly became a fan favorite, creating a legacy that has lasted for well over a decade and making occasional appearances in Hearthstone events.
