~ The last words of Leslie Ferrier. |
Leslie Ferrier is the true teritary villain in Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot novel, Hallowe'en Party. He was presented as a murder victim that Joyce Reynolds saw at first, but he soon turned out to be a corrupt solicitor affiliated to Rowena Drake, Micheal Garfield and their hideous crime.
In Hallowe'en Party's TV episode adaptation, Ferrier was portrayed by an unknown actor.
Hallowe'en Party (TV)
Lesilie Ferrier, being Mrs. Reynolds lodger and a clerk of solicitor, was sentenced to three months in prison for forgery, but he was bailed and hired by Mr. Fullerton, the primary soliciter of Woodleigh Common. However, Ferrier was suspected by his employer for possibly scooping the private documents.
After killing Mr. Drake, Garfield and Ferrier helped Rowena Drake to secure Mrs Llewellyn-Smythe's inheritance. The real codicil, written by Mrs Llewellyn-Smythe and leaving her fortune to Olga, had been replaced with a clumsy forgery, produced by Lesley Ferrier, to halt investigation for the real one, left in the pages of a large book. In earlier wills, Rowena Drake would inherit the bulk of the large estate. Lesley Ferrier and Olga Seminoff were both murdered to conceal the deceit.
