The Kremling Krew are the main antagonists in the Donkey Kong Country series. A malicious band of crocodilians led by the barbarous King K. Rool, the Kremling Krew are fierce rivals with the Kong family and have made numerous attempts to conquer the DK Isles and in so wipe out the Kongs under K. Rool's order.
With few exceptions (K. Lumsy would be one) the Kremlings are all part of the Kremling Krew, and are fiercely devoted to their leader, going as far as to emulate his numerous alter egos (an example would be in Donkey Kong Country 2, where the entire Krew copies a piratical theme in favor of K. Rool painting himself after a pirate captain) and attacking the Kongs whenever they cross.
The Kremlings are primarily interested in the Kong's legendary Banana Hoard, frequently stealing it whenever they invade (the most notable example being the first game). They follow their leader on all of his attempts to conquer the DK Isles, frequently straying out of their own home in the Crocodile Isle.
The Kremlings all but lost significance after Donkey Kong 64. As Rare's influence vanished from Nintendo, King K. Rool appeared less and less, with the return of the series instead having the Kongs be antagonized by new forces such as Tiki Tong. The Kremlings have, to this day, primarily been relegated to small cameos, an example being in Smash Run in the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros.
It should be noted that the Kremling Krew doesn't automatically exclusively include Kremlings, but denotes nearly any major antagonistic minion or boss force found in the series up to Donkey Kong 64.
