The Infinite Empire, also known as the Rakata Empire, are the overarching antagonists of the Star Wars Legends continuity.
It was a large galactic empire ruled from the planet Lehon and by its native species, the Rakata. The empire was highly scientifically advanced. The Rakata used their knowledge to conquer and enslave other species throughout the galaxy.
History[]
Founding[]
The Infinite Empire emerged on Lehon, the homeworld of the Rakata to travel across the galaxy in an instant. The Rakata were a cannibalistic people that ignored the Kwa teachings of balance, drawing only on the Dark Side of the Force. The Kwa were the Rakata's benefactors, who arrived on Lehon to teach them about the Force and their technology. A Rakata stylizing himself the "Daritha (emperor) of the Rakata" founded the Infinite Empire. Using the Kwa technology and their newfound knowledge of the Force, the Infinite Empire expanded out from Lehon and began to conquer other worlds in the Unknown Regions. They would also turn on their benefactors, degenerating them into the simple-minded Kwi lizard species.
The empire then induced fear and hatred in Force-sensitive beings, and built an enormous space station known as the Star Forge over the star Abo in the Lehon system, a factory powered by the Dark Side of the Force that produced warships and technology for the empire. The Infinite Empire spread out over the Unknown Regions and the Outer Rim by 35,000 BBY.

The end of the empire occured during a massive slave revolt across the empire, On top of this, The Rakatas were losing their connection to the Force due to an unknown disease in 25,200 BBY, Causing their technology to become useless, Due to this and the slave revolts the Rakatas retreated to their Homeworld Lehon, However, On the Homeworld the remainder of the Rakatans began vieing for control over the small remainder of the Rakatan Empire, This destroyed Lehon and forced the last few Rakata underground, By 20,000 BBY The Rakatan Empire was gone completely, The only remainder being the Tribes underground and the Star Forge, Around 5000 BBY The Rakata emerged from underground and began repopulating the surface of Lehon, They planned to destroy the Star Forge but couldn't due to them no having technology enough to damage it, The Rakata died around 1000 BBY, When the last few Rakata became extinct.
