Igor (DotM)
Igor is a Decepticon from the Transformers movie Dark of the Moon.

Appearance

He is a deformed Minicon (a mini species of Transformers, usually found in the service of the Decepticons) and he is about two feet tall. He has an ugly steel face with red eyes. He has a rounded green body, and has a hideose metal hump on his back. His arms mismatched (one is big and one is small), and he moves with the assistance of a makeshift cane.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon

Igor has no uses, but Megatron values him as a companion he can turn to, someone who can listen to his troubles. Igor is a scavenger who sticks with Megatron because of ample amount of scraps he feeds him. Megatron let him be his pet so that he would be able to forget his troubles every once and a while. Igor loves Megatron, and wouldn't know what to do whithout him.

Igor first appears at the beginning of the movie in Megatron's camp. Megatron greets him and feeds him before more Decepticons showed up.

Igor appears later in the movie at the Lincoln Memorial. He followed Megatron and Starscream up the stairs, where Megatron shot Abe Loncoln off his throne. Igor then proceeded to eat Abe Lincoln's head.

It is unknown what happened to Igor after the Battle of Chicago. In the comic adaptations, he is last seen staring at the sky, being sad & confused as he wonders what has become of his master.

Trivia

  • His design resembles the head of Long Haul. Early concept art of Josh Nizzi, the designer of Long Haul, strongly indicates Igor used to be Long Haul himself.
  • An early working name for Igor is "Undermine".
  • Igor is loosely based on Creeper from the film The Black Cauldron, as he is a direct homage to him. Unlike Creeper however, Megatron does not abuse Igor cruelly.
  • The name "Igor" is a Russian name commonly given to the hunchback assistant of Victor Frankenstein, who appeared in most adaptations of Frankenstein. Its possible he is named after the said assistant as his accent is similar to the said character.
  • It is unknown what became of Igor after the events of the third film as it may be possible he was also killed by Cemetery Wind prior to the events of the fourth film.
