The Huge Hermit is the first boss in Metal Slug 3. It is a giant hermit crab armed with cannons on its shell.
After Marco, Eri, Tarma, or Fio arrived on a dock bridge, the Huge Hermit attacked him or her while stampeding and chasing after either Marco, Eri, Tarma, or Fio. After being hit enough with guns, the Huge Hermit reveals a third cannon that can shoot nukes that can destroy a part of the bridge. After being defeated by either Marco, Tarma, Eri, or Fio, the Huge Hermit dies by sinking into the water.
