~ A warning about Gogmagog
Gogmagog is the main antagonist of Stephen King’s novel Fairy Tale.
He is a Lovecraftian being that resides in a hellish realm that can only be accessed by the Dark Well, located underneath the fantastical city of Lilimar. Gogmagog’s goal is to escape his realm and destroy the world of Empis along with all other worlds, including the one belonging to Charlie Reade, Fairy Tale's narrator.
Gogmagog has thorned wings that are coated in “some noisome fluid” that sprays everywhere when they flap, and huge golden eyes. It is not entirely clear as to what Gogmagog’s body looks like; Charlie merely describes it as being made of “alien flesh.” This falls in line with typical Lovecraftian entities: their forms are so incomprehensible that they cannot be perceived by men.
Personality[]
Little is known about Gogmagog’s personality, but it can be assumed that he craves destruction and chaos and has a hatred for anything good and beautiful.
Biography[]
Gogmagog lived in a realm inhabited by other Lovecraftian entities. At some point in time, Elden of the Gallien family, also known as Flight Killer, discovered the Dark Well which serves as a doorway to Gogmagog’s realm. When Empis's two moons, Bella and Arabella, met in the sky, the Dark Well opened a bit, allowing Flight Killer to make contact with Gogmagog. In exchange for becoming Gogmagog's personal puppet, Flight Killer is granted the power to ruin Empis by cursing everyone with “the gray," an illness that hideously deforms people and turns their skin gray.
When the time came for Bella and Arabella to meet again (this time, they would smash into each other), Flight Killer went back down to the Dark Well to allow Gogmagog to escape. Unbeknownst to him, he was followed by Charlie and Princess Leah. Leah attempts to get Flight Killer to stop the summoning, but Flight Killer, having lost most of his humanity, tries killing her. Leah manages to stab him, but it is too late; Bella and Arabella smash together, the Dark Well opens entirely, and Gogmagog starts pushing his way out.
As more and more of Gogmagog escapes the Dark Well, Charlie stands bravely and shouts for Gogmagog to go back into the Dark Well. As his name is his only weakness, Gogmagog painfully retreats back into his realm and Leah closes the Dark Well. Empis is saved and Lilimar is rebuilt, and all is well.
Despite his banishment, Gogmagog still lives in his domain, and Charlie thinks that he may try returning in the future. Since Bella and Arabella have been destroyed, however, this seems unlikely.
Powers and Abilities[]
The full extent of Gogmagog’s abilities isn’t clear, but it seems that he can alter the biology of people and grant people devastating powers. His presence can also make those with weaker minds flee in fear, an example being Eris, one of Charlie’s companions.

If Fairy Tale takes place in Stephen King’s multiverse, then it can be assumed that Gogmagog is some kind of Todash creature, much like Stephen King's other creation, It.
Gogmagog is the name of a giant from Welsh and English mythology.
Gogmagog's defeat is similar to Rumpelstiltskin's in that his name becomes his undoing. This is acknowledged by Charlie when he's facing him.
