Cranky always likes to cause trouble in every chapter in any way he can. He and his gang spend most of their days tormenting Swampy because he hates human behavior. Swampy is the only alligator who hates to be dirty. Since both Swampy and the humans bath, Cranky feels that Swampy has no role in their society. This makes everyone especially Cranky laugh at him. He originally had a relationship with Allie, but Swampy discovers a purple bow for Allie who then breaks up, causing even more tension between the two gators.
