Stop hand

Suffering is food for the soul, NOW SUFFER !!!
~ Evillene yelling at a Winkie slave.

Evillene, also known as the Wicked Witch of the West, is the main antagonist of the 1975 Broadway musical The Wiz and the 1978 film version of the same name.

Her enemies are Dorothy, the Scarecrow, Tin Man and the Lion. She wants to avenge the death of her sister Evermean and to retrieve her silver slippers.

Biography[]

Living in the sewers and underground domains of Oz, Evillene runs a gigantic Sweatshop of never-ending labor that she rules over and completely controls. She sleeps most of the day and wakes up in the afternoon, which pleases her. When she comes out of her chambers she sits on a gigantic throne next to a flaming furnace of fire. Yet her throne is actually a giant dirty toilet, decorated in tacky and gaudy items. Her Winkie slaves call her "Oh Beautiful One" only because they know that's what she wants to hear. She screams, yells and shouts a lot which fills her slaves (The Winkies, Poppy girls, the Crows, and the Subway peddler) with great fear and she will put an end to anyone who questions her authority.

She calls her biker gang "Flying Monkeys" to capture Dorothy and her friends. Once captured, Evillene tortures Dorothy and her friends. This includes Dorothy's little pet dog, Toto, with Evillene threatening to burn him alive. But just as Dorothy is willing to surrender, the Scarecrow, while still split in half, hints Dorothy toward a fire alarm. Just as Evillene screams at Dorothy, Dorothy pulls the fire alarm, activating the sprinklers and putting out the fire; this also manages to melt Evillene (as a result of her being allergic to water) as she disappears and is flushed down her toilet throne.

Personality[]

Evillene is typically portrayed as a cruel and power-hungry character. Her personality is characterized by wickedness, greed, and a desire for control. She rules over the Winkie Country in Oz with an iron fist and is feared by the inhabitants.

Evillene is known for her love of material wealth, particularly her obsession with acquiring the Silver Slippers. She is often depicted as a formidable and intimidating figure, using her magical powers to maintain dominance over her domain.

  • She can harm people with pyro or lightning to deadly effects
  • Her Reputation as the most dangerous in OZ has caused almost everyone to fear her, even the The Wiz has shown secretly great fear of her.

Weaknesses[]

  • She is Very Allergic to Water as too much can cause her to melt completely into a puddle
  • She has a very short temper to the point she harms anyone that gives her bad news or who opposes her rule/command.
  • She is also very cocky to the point she gloats and monologues at very serious moments
  • She cannot harm or force off the wearer of her sister's shoes because if she would try that, it would cause her great pain and her magic would backfire.
