Mukuro is an antagonist in the anime series Samurai Champloo, more specifically the main antagonist in the two-part episode Misguided Miscreants. He is Mugen's evil counterpart and former friend and easily the most evil villain in the entire series. A ruthless pirate, Mukuro's weapon of choice is a revolver and he is also seen using bombs during his raids.
Biography[]
Mugen, along with Mukuro and his stepsister Kohza, were raised in the Ryukyu Islands. Unlike Mugen, whose hatred for humans was mere apathy, Mukuro became a much more nihilistic person, developing hatred for virtually everyone and everything around him. He also murdered Kohza's mother so that he could manipulate her and eventually developed sexual interest towards her. Mukuro convinced Mugen to join piracy but only used him as a brute to kill the guards of a sugar shipment. He then betrayed Mugen and left him to die once the cargo was stolen.
Mugen did not die however and during the present Mukuro once again convinced him to join him for one last time. After slaughtering an entire village, Mukuro, along with Mugen, raid a government shipment but betrays Mugen once again, leaving him and his men to be killed using massive explosives to destroy the ship. Unbeknownst to Mukuro and Jin, Mugen survives and is taken care of by Kohza. Kohza then manipulates Jin into seeking revenge for Mugen. After a brief duel, Mukuro is eventually slain by Jin and before dying, Mukuro realized that he was used by Kohza all along.
