Hot damn!! 東方 Touhou Unplugged/Classic 153

Title: Immortal Terror -再生-
Artist: ゆう (Yuu), Yuu is from Dark PHOENiX
Original: 月まで届け、不死の煙 (Reach for the Moon, Immortal Smoke)
Is what I thought when I first heard this song.
It caught me by surprise since I was navigating in a sea of techno when I found it.
Yuu from Dark PHOENiX is one of those arrangers I like a lot. But at the same time he really pisses me off a lot, he has a lot of potential for some orchestral love, but he's always stuck in his synth rock and Miku world that he never gives them the love he should. But, still, I always have high hopes for this guy, and it was the main reason I got this album.
The guy is mostly a keyboardist, and a good (and smart) one. The background piano in this arrange is a good example, godlike, right?
As you guys can tell, Yuu is good when it comes to synth, yes, I won't deny it. Normally I don't like synth guitars (not at all actually) but I'll admit that they fit very well in this arrange, it manages to keep up with the upbeat and fast pace the synth orchestra is following, they really do sound nice. Don't let me get started on his background pianos, he's going insane while the song is following on, literally, insane.
I think it's a very unique take on Mokou's theme, which normally seems to be fitted with mellow and sad arranges (TAM says hi) since it's a pretty sad song. Aaaactually, let me rephrase that, the song is actually "seen" as a sad song, and I believe that the "true colours" of the song can be taken out with a sad arrange, but in reality it's pretty brutal.
I can really imagine an insane battle between Mokou and Kaguya with this song playing, it really gives that "heated up battle" ring to it. Hot damn!!
