Glyph Statues, (aka Golems), are supporting antagonistic forces and recurring enemies featured in, Thief: Deadly Shadows. They are ordinary stone statues that were granted life by Glyph magic of Gamall (aka The Hag), who commands them to locate and kill intruders including Garrett as parrt of their designated area's security systems.

Behavior[]

Their intelligence is limited, patrolling set areas under simple instructions to attack anything they see, or to investigate any loud sounds. Though they are able to speak their speech is fragmentary and simple, repeating simple statements repeatedly concerning whatever they happened to be doing at the time.

Variants[]

Stone Human Statues[]

Stone Human Statues are one of the three types of statues taken by the animated stone statues that were created by Gamall during Garrett's investigations into Keeper Orland. Near the end of the mission Of Brethren... And Betrayers, in the hall of statues, Gamall (then known as The Hag) animates the statues using Keepers' Glyph magic. They appear as bearded male human shaped statues, wearing robes like those found on aristocratic people around the city. The statues are very strong and are able to break a great speed if alerted, making them quite a formidable opponent to deal with.

Stone Gargoyle Statues[]

Stone Gargoyle Statues are second of the three types of statues brought to life by Gamall during Garrett's investigations into Keeper Orland. Near the end of the mission Of Brethren... And Betrayers, in the hall of statues, Gamall animates the statues using Glyph magics of Keeper. They appear as vaguely gargoyle-shaped, with bat-like facial features, claws and two-toed feet, though lacking the wings. These statues are also very strong and are also able to explode onto great speed when alerted so they should not be underestimated.

Giant Stone Human Statue[]

This giant stone glyph statue is similar to its cousin, Stone Human Statues but only bigger. They only appear in Gamall's Lair. This colossal statue stands guard within the central courtyard of Gamall's Lair.
