There's already a fight, DeWitt. Only question is, which side you on? Comstock is the god of the white man, the rich man, the pitiless man. But if you believe in common folk, then join the Vox. If you believe in the righteous folk, then join the Vox.
~ Daisy to Booker DeWitt.
This is what needs to be done! You see, the Founders ain't nothin' but weeds. Cut 'em down and they just grow back! If you wanna get rid of a weed, you gotta pull it up from the root! It's the only way to be sure--
~ Daisy to Booker, her last words.

Daisy Fitzroy is a major antagonist in the 2013 action-adventure video game BioShock Infinite and a supporting character in the DLC story BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea - Episode 2. She also appears as one of the main characters in Infinite's prequel novel Mind in Revolt.

She is the leader of the resistance group known as the Vox Populi. She is shown to deeply care about her cause for freedom and is willing to sacrifice herself to ensure its success.

She was voiced by Kimberly Brooks, who also voiced Jasper from Steven Universe, Cheetah in the DC Animated Film Universe, Madelyn Spaulding in Static Shock, Princess Makeda in Totally Spies!, Phylidia Flanders in What's New Scooby-Doo?, Looma Red Wind in the Ben 10 series, Reika Kuze in Fatal Frame III: The Tormented, and Eye Scream and Bad Juju in Skylanders.

Overview[]

As the Vox Populi grew more and more powerful and their ideals became increasingly extreme, Fitzroy sought to destroy The Founders and their sympathizers. She is also aware of and her powers, and wishes to harness them for the benefit of her agenda. Centralizes on her followers taking over an area of whilst terrorizing of the remaining citizens in the area. She appears on propaganda posters throughout the city, and recordings of her messages are frequently projected onto large crimson sheets with speakers booming her voice across the surrounding area, in an attempt to vandalize the Founders' displays and property as well as rally support. During the trailer, she bears a distinct foreign accent different from the English spoken in Columbia.

During the course of the original game, Fitzroy initially appears as an ally who transports Booker DeWitt to Jeremiah Fink's base in Finktown. Later, however, she soon shows her true colors as an extremist, killing Fink in cold blood (and painting her face with his blood), and eventually threatening to murder his innocent son. She is killed by Elizabeth before she can, however.

As revealed in Burial at Sea, though, Fitzroy had no intention of actually going through with the murder. Rather, the Vox Populi had grown far out of her ability to moderate and control, and recognizing Columbia posed an increasing danger to the multiverse, Robert and Rosalind Lutece convinced her to become a scapegoat to convince Elizabeth there was nothing worth saving. Recognizing no other choice, she accepted, hence her treacherous behavior in the original game.

History[]

Background[]

Daisy Fitzory was born around the 1800s to unnamed parents, and alongside many of her race, were brought to Columbia by Jeremiah Fink to be used as labor. She was given the position as the maid of the Comstock house, and started to look up to Lady Comstock since she was a genuine person. In 1895, Zachary Hale Comstock murdered his wife when she decided to expose the truth about Elizabeth, and Fitzroy was framed for the murder. Daisy then fled the Comstock's home and to the streets, and started to the form Vox Populi, a rebellious group that became tired of the Founders' abuse. At some point, she was arrested in Finkton and interviewed by Dr. Pinchot, but she later escaped.

As years went on, the Vox Populi became more powerful as more recruits joined, and turned from peaceful protesters to vengeful extremists. She was able to inspire many to join her cause, as countless joined due to the abuse they suffered from the upper class, or being exploited by Fink Manufacturing. The group turned to finding a way to destroy the Founders, and Fitzroy became determined to defeat Comstock and his party.

Bioshock Infinite[]

Continuing her crusade against the Founders, the Vox Populi come across the First Lady airship, and find an unconscious Booker DeWitt. Daisy then strikes a deal with DeWitt, meet with the gunsmith Chen Lin to give her cause weapons to fight against Comstock in exchange for the First Lady. Due to the death of Mr. Lin, Elizabeth opens a tear to another reality where the gunsmith wasn't killed, and later a reality where Chen gave the Vox weapons. Fitzroy leads her rebellion to revolt against the Founders party, starting by attacking Fink Manufacturing. However, in this reality, Booker became a martyr for the Vox, which further inspired their goal to destroy the Founders. When Daisy learns that Booker is alive, she confronts him, believing his return to complicate the narrative.

Fitzroy orders her followers to kill Booker, as she leads the attack on Fink's factory to confront the industrialist. Confronting him, Daisy kills Fink before taking his son hostage, not noticing Booker and Elizabeth defeating her men. While holding the child hostage, she is confronted by Booker, who distracts her long enough for Elizabeth to stab her with a pair of scissors, killing her.

Burial at Sea[]

In Burial at Sea, it's revealed that Rosalind and Robert Lutece spoke with Fitzroy, tasking her with taking the child hostage to prepare Elizabeth for her journey. She was initially reluctant to do so, but she was convinced by the pair when they foretold that doing so would lead to Comstock's downfall.
