Clive is the secondary antagonist of Illumination's 8th animated feature Despicable Me 3, the third installment of the Despicable Me franchise.

He is the Balthazar Bratt's robotic sidekick.

He was voiced by Andy Nyman, who previously portrayed The Tumor from Kick-Ass 2.

Appearance

Clive is a small, eighties-looking white robot with red eyes, a crudely drawn pixelated smile and a blue antenna. He also appears to have a rather toy-like look to him.

Biography

Clive was originally a character in the show Evil Bratt (which Balthazar starred in) and appeared as the latter's little robotic sidekick. After the show got cancelled, Bratt made a replica of Clive who would be his sidekick and partner in crime.

He assisted Bratt in several crimes with him including stealing the diamond and kidnapping Gru and Lucy's daughters from Dru Gru's mansion. He mostly appears as his get-away driver. After Bratt's robot crashed by Dru, Clive was most likely crushed and killed after Balthazar's robot was destroyed by Dru since he isn't seen later when Bratt survives the crash & escapes from the robot safely to battle Gru. But Gru successfully defeated him. Balthazar even complained to Gru, "You ruined everything!" as in everything Balthazar had, which includes Clive. It can be supposed that Clive died after the battle due to not being seen afterward. With Bratt's defeat, thus makes Clive cannot be able to do anything else anymore without his master.

• His fate is currently unknown when Bratt safely left the robot. However, it's likely it died or got injured after the robot collapses.
• He is similar the Minions; they are loyal henchmen and partner of crimes with their boss. (Clive has Bratt while the Minions got Gru). Gru & Bratt both even met their loyal henchmen in their childhood when they were younger. Gru met his minions when he froze Scarlet & Herb while Bratt creates Clive at the years since his program starts going before cancellation. They plot to be the world's greatest supervillains & dominate the world if it means committing crimes. However Gru & his Minions drop their sinful lives of being villains while Bratt & Clive chose to be villains by destroying hollywood thus avenges Brat''s cancelled program.
