With this ORB, I will finally destroy my ARCH-NEMESIS, Earthworm Jim!!! (Cackling)
~ Psy-Crow with the Orb to destroy Earthworm Jim.

Psy-Crow is the main antagonist of the Earthworm Jim series. He is the bitter archenemy of Jim.

He was voiced by Jim Cummings in the animated series.

Biography[]

Earthworm Jim[]

Psy-Crow is an intergalactic bounty hunter crow who has been a bad guy since forever. Psy-Crow is the main responsible for the birth of Earthworm Jim because he accidentally dropped the Ultra-high-tech-indestructible-super-space-cyber-suit while delivering it to his employer, the Queen Slug-For-A-Butt.

The suit eventually fell to Earth, where Jim, who was just a common earthworm, entered it and mutated into what he is now. Psy-Crow was obviously tasked by the queen to retrieve the suit, chasing Jim around the galaxy, only to be beaten seven times in a race.

Earthworm Jim 2[]

Jim eventually defeated the Queen, so Psy-Crow decided to kidnap the Princess What's-Her-Name, so he could marry her and become the new ruler of the galaxy. Jim goes after Psy-Crow to stop his evil plans, eventually saving the princess from his clutches.

Earthworm Jim 3D[]

Some time later, Jim goes into a coma after being bashed by a cow. Inside his own mind, Jim discovers that many villains are trashing his four brains, and Psy-Crow was one of them. Psy-Crow took residence into Jim's memory, fixating on a bad memory of the Great Farmyard War, instigating the duel between the cows and chickens. Jim manages to end the conflict and goes after Psy-Crow, defeating him and expelling him out of his mind.

Animated Series[]

You’ll learn the secrets of maniacal laughter. (Everyone laughs as instructed) You’ll amaze your friends with your fiendish vocabulary. (Evil the Cat: Face my... alie- ah... Awesome! Rough! Vile Do-Gooder, I shall. Di? Destroy you. A minor backset, setback!) And you’ll attend a special space villain support group (Alien: You are bad, you're so bad and that's good, but in a bad way) Because if you don’t respect yourself, no one will tremble at your feet in abject terror. (Professor Monkey-For-A-Head: Before I took Psy-Crow's course, I was a simple dairy farmer. NOW, Dig me! I got a monkey grafted to my head!! *monkey screech* No, I was NOT making eyes at THE GORILLA!! I'm a happily grafted man.) (Earthworm Jim: Psy-Crow's students are the most CAPABLE villains I've battled. Psycrow, YOU'RE number one. I'm the galactic most wanted one, that is, Hehehehe.) (Cackling) You said it, accursed dog odor! Wha- next, Do-Gooder! You know what I'm saying. Call today, and remember our motto: "The wages of sin is dead, but the hours are good.". (Announcer: And now, back to Earthworm Jim!)
~ Psy-Crow's advertisement for Psy-Crow School of Nefarious Space Villainy in "Assault and Battery".

In the cartoon series, Psy-Crow is shown to be a regular henchman of the Queen, often working together with Professor Monkey-For-A-Head despite him and Psy-Crow often proving themselves to be very incompetent with defeating Earthworm Jim. In the episode, "The Exile of Lucy", both of them manage to overthrow the Queen, only to be dethroned shortly after by the Queen, Bob the Killer Goldfish and Number Four, Peter Puppy, Princess What's-Her-Name and Jim and their friends, who helped her just in this one occasion.

Personality[]

Char 54645-1-

Psy-Crow's name is fitting, as he is a near-true psychopath. He seeks to gun Earthworm Jim down with hooks, to give the super suit to Queen Slug-For-A-Butt. His greed for money is rivaled by his greed for a good meal, as he wants to devour Earthworm Jim.

He is also quite capable of pretending to be an innocent victim, to make his enemies appear much eviler than himself. However, despite how incompetent he generally is, he does have a strong sense of honor, challenging Jim to races and accepting defeat very well. He is very proud of his status as a feared assassin, as it allows him to take what he pleases and bully others. He will carry out many tasks, no matter how amoral they may be, if there is a nice, juicy paycheck involved.

However, Psy-Crow is not insufferably evil, as Psy-Crow does show remorse for his actions and has redeeming qualities. In addition, Psy-Crow is a very high-ranking American veteran who fought in the Vietnam War during the Cold War, as he was fighting in South Vietnam in the Mekong Delta Sea area with Unit Charlie, as he is saved by The Great Worm Spirit (voiced by Doug TenNapel, himself) via being pulled into a foxhole.

Quotes[]

Oh you guys will believe anything. *Sidekick gets crushed by the hand of Psy-Crow's mecha, the Ex-Crow-Skeleton* (Earthworm Jim: Ugh. Ew. Oh. The good thing, the Sidekicks Union have a comprehensive medical plan!)
~ Psy-Crow being sarcastic towards Jim's useless former sidekick in the episode "Sidekicked".
Didn't your mother ever tell you to watch where you run in?
~ Psy-Crow in the episode "Sidekicked".
(Laughter) I love my job! (Continues laughing)
~ Psy-Crow.
These poor souls could be cured with margarine aversion therapy at: "The Superhero Treatment Center"! (Commercial demonstrates superheroes getting wrecked upon treatment)
~ Psy-Crow.
Maximum Suckage! Dahhh!!! (Earthworm Jim: Come on, little chum! Let's get that cray surgeon to switch our heads back!) (Peter: Yeah, my suit is starting to itch) *Psy-Crow hits the ground with the train slamming onto him* I am, DEFINITELY going to feel this, in, the, morning...
~ Psy-Crow failing to kill Earthworm Jim with a train in the episode "Trout".
It looks different. (Earthworm Jim: When have YOU seen the Great Worm Spirit before?) He saved my life in the Nam, man. It was the Mekong Delta Sea. Charlie was moving in hard and fast. Guns were getting SHOT to pieces ALL around! It was a nightmare, man; a screaming NIGHTMARE! Then, the Great Worm Spirit pulled me into a foxhole. I'll never forget it, man. Not till my dying day, man!
~ Psy-Crow explaining to Earthworm Jim about how he was saved by The Great Worm Spirit during the Vietnam War in the episode “Hyper Psy-Crow”.
