Malmoth
Malmoth is a demon and the main antagonist in the 1985 French animated televison series Clémentine.
Biography[]
Malmoth is a demon of fire of uncertain origin (perhaps inspired by the novel of Irish writer Maturin: Melmoth the wanderer, the spelling of the two is almost identical). At the beginning of the series, he is undefined, manifesting through a cloud, lightning, tree or rock (when Clementine had an accident). From episode 5 we see his true appearance as a fire demon (the cloud form reappears in a timely manner thereafter).
Malmoth has a strange fixation on Clementine, wishing to have her as a companion for eternity, to torture her with love. Countered by Hemera, he sends his minions to bring him the girl. When they fail, he transforms them into slimy creatures who are sentenced to crawl in his lair for eternity. Finally, Clementine finds the courage to confront him and that act allows Héméra to kill him.
Malmoth powers are unclear. He rarely leaves his lair and manifests on Earth in various ways (cloud, fire, etc..). Among his evil deeds, he killed Professor Delatrousse, injure Alex in the form of flame (Africa), throwed heat rays (Arab), created a demonic sword (Japan) or returned Clementine and Alex in the past.
