Arkadimonperfect

Arkadimon, also known as Arcadiamon, is a recurring antagonist in the Digimon franchise, being a major antagonist in Digimon V-Tamer 01, a minor antagonist in Digimon Xros Wars, and a major antagonist in Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker's Memory.

Appearance[]

Arkadimon is a Digimon that resembles an insect-like monster that can change it's level and appearance when it gets stronger. It's one of the few Digimon that can change it's level while remaining the same Digimon.

In its Fresh stage, Arkadimon is a grey-colored creature resembling a head with slanted red eyes, small nostrils, and six insectile legs. A normally unseen toothy vertical mouth is on its back, which opens up while attacking.

Its Rookie stage appears to be a pink-skinned humanoid with sculpted musculature, red spikes on its back, two metallic-grey horns on its head, and a claw at the tip of each limb. The claws on its arms are large and sickle-like, and can extend while attacking. One more red spike protrudes from behind each of its heels. It has no visible mouth. Two black stripes are on its pectoral muscles, and several more stripes line its legs. It has a long but slender red tail.

Arkadimon's Champion stage retains some features from its Rookie stage while appearing notably different. Its skin is a beige color, and its shape is still humanoid but far lankier than its previous form. It now has hands instead of sickles on its arms, and its feet have three claws instead of one. Its head is elongated, and a third eye runs down its forehead. Its tail is longer, and small tendrils line its arms. A pair of vestigial, feathered wings protrude from its back, and a frilly crest of tendrils similar to an axolotl's gills stick out from the back of its head.

In its Ultimate stage, it retains similar proportions to its Rookie stage, albeit larger and more exaggerated. Its body is large and muscular, similar to the body-shape of other demonic humanoid Digimon. Its wings appear to be bony, filled with tendrils instead of feathers. Most of its skin is a greenish hue, but its arms are yellow. It has hands with large tentacles serving as fingers. Openings above the wrist of each arm reveals additional sets of peering, extraterrestrial eyes. Like the Fresh stage, it has a hidden mouth, this time in its chest.

Its Mega stage has many similarities to its Ultimate stage, with a nearly identical body-shape. It now has a bluish-grey exoskeleton, and several openings along its body that reveal hidden eyes and additional tendrils. It has two pairs of wings now, with insect-like membranes instead of tendrils. Its head no longer has any visible eyes.

Arkadimon's Super Ultimate stage is gigantic, the humanoid shape wavering as it becomes a large collection of wiry tentacles and eyes spewing out from dark blue armor that bares a superficial resemblance to its Mega stage. Its head has eyes again, and a pair of long antenna made from more of its tendrils. It still has wings, though Arkadimon seems able to simply levitate in place at this stage. Its lower-body is dome-shaped, and gigantic eyes leer from what was once its shoulder-blades.

Biography[]

Digimon V-Tamer 01[]

Arkadimon drove much of the comic's plot. Fathered by a Daemon for the purpose of conquering the human world, preventing Arkadimon's progression to the Super Ultimate(Super Mega in English) level was one of the main goals of the protagonists.

There was a schism between Arkadimon's father, Lord Demon, and the human tamer this Daemon chose to raise his child, Neo Saiba. Neo was needed to keep Arkadimon controllable at level seven, but Neo thought Arkadimon would be put to better use helping him rebuild and repopulate the Digimon World with monsters more to his liking.

Knowledge of the "super ultimate" egg's hatching was reported by an Igamon spying for Lord HolyAngemon's army, and by the time the monster appeared on panel it had already evolved to its baby 2/in training stage before having left its incubator. Neo revealed to his ally tamer Sigma that he had advanced its evolution progress by feeding it the data of other monsters before having the would be super ultimate devour Sigma's Piemon, which had been injured in battle with Neo's hated enemy Zeromaru.

Neo specifically chose its name in reference to Arcadia, believing it to be an ideal place that he would model his "Neo World" after using the monster's power. As Arkadimon grew in strength through Neo's diet plan, Saiba also began using samples of its data to empower his preferred monsters and transform them into new states that resembled legendary figures associated with the land of Arcadia. His ultimate goal was to build a "Neo World" where people could live without fear of injury, where his disabled sister would be protected for the rest of her life.

Having evolved to the rookie level from Sigma's Piemon, the leader of Lord Demon's opposition, Lord HolyAngemon, was next on the menu. During the siege of HolyAngel castle Neo couldn't help but have Arkadimon have a taste of the opposition general Leo, which finally drew out Lord HolyAngemon himself. The soldiers too stubborn to fallback were sucked into heaven's gate, from which there was supposed to be no return, but intended target Arkadimon was able to stop the gate's closure at the last second thanks to the abilities it had gained through Neo's diet plan and tear it apart to escape. At this Lord HolyAngemon evolved to level six and began to blow Arkadimon to pieces, but the level three monster managed to hold itself together long enough to counter attack and successfully breached HolyAngemon's armor, despite the three level difference.

The data of Leo and Lord HolyAngemon allowed Arcadimon to evolve to the adult stage, after which it seemingly had immunity to Lord HolyAngemon's attacks and fed on him leisurely until being driven of by a returning Zeromaru. It ate enough to evolve to the perfect level, however, and believing the "light" data of Leo and Lord HolyAngemon had to be balanced, Neo then had Arkadimon feed on the biggest source of "darkness" he could find in Aradkimon's own father after prokoving Lord Demon to attack him in Akardimon's presence.

Arkadimon was able to devour Demon entirely using an invisible attack, after which it evolved to the ultimate level six. To reach the fabled level seven in a controllable state, Neo needed to power of three other human tamers, but believing he already gained what he needed from his human allies he instead loosed Arkadimon on their monsters to test its strength. While on route to a "controllable" state, Arkadimon proved immune to the mind control of Mari's Rosemon and what little damage she could inflict was instantly repaired by consuming her. Warg and Melga fared a little better after Hideto invoked jogress evolution to turn them into an Omegamon(Omnimon in English) but soon found themselves facing the same "immunity" as lord HolyAngemon and invisible attacks as Lord Demon, forcing them to flee with heavy damage. Even Zeromaru, who had been defeating the monsters Neo modified with Arkadimon's data, and was following a plan of attack from his tamer Taichi Yagami that Neo could not follow, ultimately fell to Arkadimon's mysterious abilities.

Neo left Zero for dead and launched an all out assault on Lord HolyAngemon's territory, with Arkadimon at the front of his vanguard. Arkadimon's overwhelming power was too much for any monster in the opposition force to match and Neo easily countered any strategy to try and work around it until Neo's own sister Rei Saiba inspired Taichi and Sigma to work out an effective counter after showing Taichi Zero had been nursed back to health. Seeing Arkadimon pressed into a corner by Zeromaru, Neo finally used the super ultimate digimental, unknowingly empowered by Sigma, Mari and Hideto, to evolve Arkadimon to level seven. Though he was displeased with Zeromaru evolving to level six and response and managing to fight Arkadimon to a stalemate, Tachi and Zero could only delay Arkadmon as it continued destroying the Digimon World as Neo intended.

Neo suddenly ordered Arkadimon to cease its attacks after it continued to attack Zero while he was saving Neo's sister Rei from a suicide attempt. Finally accepting that "Neo World" wasn't something Rei wanted, Neo lost the will to fight and a now passive Arkadimon reverted to level six. Lord Demon's data manipulating "dark virus" had allowed him to survive within his child however, and this moment of weakness allowed him to devour Arkadimon from within, and in turn evolve to level seven himself without losing his mental faculties. Neo's scenario, Arkadimon's abilities, their insatiable appetites, in both a figurative and literal sense, had been used against them to and brought Arkadimon's undoing. His father, now stronger than ever, free to attack not just Neo but all known humans in existence with the power it had unfittingly given him.

Digimon Xros Wars[]

In Digimon Xros Wars, Arkadimon is a member of the Bagra Army. He's a mindless monster being controlled by Lilithmon. The Xros Hearts encountered him while going on their journey to the Shinobi Zone. He was destroyed by Shoutmon X5. Arkadimon's half body is seen before he was deleted.

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker's Memory[]

In Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker's Memory, Arkadimon (referred to as Arcadiamon) serves as a major antagonist. Its In-Training stage dwells within the center of the Under Zero server, and awakens after the massive Digital Shift that connected the Digital World to the real world. It is discovered by Hudie's leader, Ryuji Mishima, and it absorbs his Cyberdramon while forming a mental link with the hacker. After absorbing Cyberdramon, it evolves into its Rookie stage and begins controlling Ryuji, taking advantage of his vulnerable mental state caused by his friend Chitose Imai's affliction with EDEN Syndrome.

Once Arcadiamon evolves into its Champion stage, Ryuji is confronted by Fei Wong Tomoe Ignacio. Even though Fei has three Mega stage Digimon, she is unable to defeat Arcadiamon, and Ryuji escapes. Later, Ryuji arrives at Hudie's headquarters, and is confronted by Fei again. Fei's TigerVespamon attempts to attack Ryuji, but Arcadiamon blocks the attack and evolves into its Ultimate stage, destroying the Hudie headquarters and nearly killing Fei and Ryuji's younger sister, Erika. Arcadiamon flies away from the wreckage, Ryuji standing on its shoulder. Later, the protagonist of the game (named Keisuke Amasawa by default) battles Ryuji and Arcadiamon, his Digimon overpowering the latter in combat and forcing Ryuji and Arcadiamon to flee. While pursuing Arcadiamon, Keisuke is joined by Arata Sanada, who helps him with tracking down Ryuji. The two eventually find them, Arcadiamon devouring a large pile of dead/defeated Digimon to gain more power. Seeing Arata sends Ryuji into a rage, which hastens Arcadiamon's evolution into its Mega stage. In the ensuing fight, Keisuke and Arata win, and the Arcadiamon is seemingly defeated for good, lying on the ground immobile. Chitose Imai, who has recovered from EDEN Syndrome, appears and scolds Ryuji for the damage he caused to Tokyo using Arcadiamon. For a moment, Ryuji seems to have broken the mental link between himself and Arcadiamon, and returns to normal. However, Arcadiamon suddenly gets back up, and before Ryuji can react, he is absorbed by the Digimon, who then flies away.

Ryuji and the Arcadiamon go missing for several days, until Erika develops a special tool using the code from the mysterious Eaters that have plagued cyberspace over the course of the story. The tools, called Eater Bits, are able to eventually find the location of the Arcadiamon, which has now finally evolved into its Super Ultimate stage. After its location is discovered, it is confronted by Erika and Keisuke. The Arcadiamon is initially invincible, an unseen barrier of code preventing it from taking damage. Erika uses the Eater Bits to remove the force field, and Keisuke is able to use his Digimon to defeat Arcadiamon. Arcadiamon is destroyed, and Ryuji and his Cyberdramon are released from its body.
