Sorry about that, Dad, but I am now in a position to do just about anything I wish with this Gundam! How about a demonstration?
~ Kyoji Kasshu as he is manipulated by the Devil Gundam.

The Ultimate Gundam, better known as JDG-00X Devil Gundam and later the Colony Devil Gundam, is the main antagonist of the anime television series Mobile Fighter G Gundam. Originally an ordinary Gundam, it was given the duty to restore the environment of Earth. However, after experiencing a malfunction in its AI, it determined that the best course of action to saving the planet was to destroy humanity.

Biography[]

Originally called the Ultimate Gundam, it was created with a unique mesh of technological and organic science by Dr. Raizo Kasshu. Giving it the abilities to heal its wounds, multiply itself, and evolve into enhanced forms, the scientist planned to have the Ultimate Gundam transfer its powers to the populace, in the hopes of curing illnesses and enhancing the human form.

After the Ultimate Gundam's construction, Dr. Mikamura, feeling envious towards his colleague, betrayed him and leaked its schematics to Ulube Ishikawa, the general of Neo Japan. Wanting to use the Ultimate Gundam as a weapon of war, Ulube had his forces raid Raizo's laboratory. Ordering his son Kyoji to escape to Earth, the doctor could only hope that the Ultimate Gundam could be able to set his plans into motion. With his wife slain and himself framed, Raizo would eventually be placed into cryogenic sleep by Ulube.

After the Ultimate Gundam made its crash landing, a system malfunction resulted in it recalibrating its goals. Rather than improving the world at large, the Ultimate Gundam sought to instead protect the environment through drastic measures. Coming to the conclusion that humanity needed to be destroyed, the Ultimate Gundam evolved into the Devil Gundam, transforming its unfortunate pilot into a living battery as well. As his consciousness ebbed, however, Kyoji managed to use his Gundam's DG cells to reanimate the deceased Gundam Fighter of Neo Germany, turning him into an animatronic replica named Schwarz Bruder.

Sometime after this, Ulube would lead try to seize the Devil Gundam for himself, only for his forces to be wiped out by the raging mech. Witnessing the Devil Gundam's sheer power with his own eyes, Ulube became obssessed with the prospect of taking the Devil Gundam for himself. In addition, former Gundam Fight champion Master Asia also had a chance encounter with the Devil Gundam, although with a much better outcome. Agreeing in its desire to destroy humanity, Master Asia had the Devil Gundam enhance his Kowloon Gundam with DG cells, turning it into the Master Gundam.

Eventually, the Devil Gundma showed up in Shinjuku to begin its rampage, using DG cells to transform both civilians and corpses into its zombified minions. On its own accord, it also created yellow cycloptic Mobile Fighters known as Death Army and Death Beast for the Zombie Soldiers to pilot, ensuring that its newfound puppets will not be unarmed. With its task complete, it then hid in Shinjuku to evolve, only being active to expand its army.

Ater Rain Mikamura went missing thanks to Master Asia's trap, Domon would go to look for her, leading to him discovering the Gundam underground. Scanning the surrounding area, he also came to the grip discovery that not only had Master Asia allied himself with the nightmarish being, but the Devil Gundam also transformed several Gundam Fighters (Chibodee Crocket, Sai Saici, Argo Gulskii, and George de Sand) into mindless servants. While the Shuffle Alliance lead a suicidal charge into its hideout to free the enslaved Gundam Fighters, their deaths served to foretell the Devil Gundam's evolution and awakening. Tearing its way to the surface, Domon tried to finish it off with Shining Gundam's Shining Finger Sword, but his hesitation at killing his brother resulted in his attack missing. Fully energized from the failed strike, the Devul Gundam then escaped with Master Asia in toe, the two plotting the end of mankind for the sake of nature.

Devil Gundam and Master Asia would later track down Domon in the Guyana Highlands, where the former would create different variants of its Death Army to lead a vicious charge against the heroes. Despite the hordes closing in, Domon managed to awaken the True Super Mode of Shining Gundam by being in a serene state of mind, thus allowing him to defeat Master Asia and wound the Devil Gundam. While both its body and power source was damaged, the injuries the Shining Gundam suffered forced Domon to wield the superior God Gundam instead.

The Devil Gundam was left to rust on Guyana Island until it was recovered by Wong Yunfat, who desired to use its powers to ensure his power over the world. While Wong was able to create a plot alongside Master Asia to ensure their goals, he eventually made the discovery that Kyoji would soon perish due to exhaustion. With the Devil Gundam needing a human battery to function, Wong sought to use Neo Sweden's Allenby Beardsley as its latest power source, after discovering that woman served as better live units for the Devil Gundam. At the same time, however, Master Asia conspired to use Domon as his ally's new power source, under the belief that his strength would give the best results.

As the grand finale of the 13th Gundam Fight, Wong released the Devil Gundam on Lantau Island, infecting Marcelot Cronos in the chaos. By then, Domon learned the truth on Ulube's part in corrupting the Ultimate Gundam, driving Domon to defeat his family's creation. After the defeat of the Gundam Heaven's Sword and the Grand Gundam, Domon confronted the Devil Gundam directly, intent on righting the wrongs the general caused. Schwartz tried to help the protagonist with his Mirage Gundam, but he was ultimately captured. With his friend slowly being transformed into its latest battery, Domon was forced to use Sekiha Tenkyoken to incinerate the Devil Gundam's live units. Without anyone to power it, the Devil Gundam was sent into an inert state. However, it ultimately would not remain inactive for long, as Ullube managed to transport the mech to Neo Japan.

After offering Rain Mikamura to the Devil Gundam and killing her father, Ulube allowed the Devil Gundam to assimilate Neo Japan. Now the size of an entire colony, the Devil Gundam ascended once more to become the Colony Devil Gundam, having become unfathomably powerful due to the amount of material it consumed. Planning to use the Colony Devil Gundam to conquer the Earth, Uulbe unleashed his mobile suit onto the various colonies forces, easily defeating their mobile suits. With the safety of the world being at risk of falling to a self-proclaimed monarch, the Gundam Fighters united to take down the mechanical abomination. With information provided by Raizo, who is freed by Mikamura in his last momented, Domon learned of the Colony Devil Gundam's weak point: its furnace. Guided by this knowledge, he and the new Shuffle Alliance busted into the Colony Devil Gundam to face off against Ulube, reduced into a mere husk serving the Colony Devil Gundam's will. After dueling against and eventually destroying Ulube's Grand Master Gundam, Domon dived further into the mobile suit's core, while the New Shuffle Alliance stayed behind to fight off a regenerated Grand Master Gunda.

Reaching its heart, Domon saw Rain embedded into the wall of the creature's core, taking the form of Devil Gundam's Mobile Fighter form. Manifesting her grief, regrets, and desire to keep Domon away to power itself, the Devil Gundam's regenerative ability and firepower managed to overwhelm Domon, with any damage he inflicted both being immediately healed and felt in full by Rain. As all hope seems lost, the Shuffle Alliance would encourage Domon to admit his love for Rain, in the hopes of it breaking the Devil Gundam's hold on her. This strategy ultimately worked, with Rain breaking free of her captor and into Domon's arms. With its lifeline disabled, the Colony Devil Gundam made a final attempt to destroy the heroes, only for the two to use Sekiha Love Love Tenkyoken to destroy its core. Now without a way to ensure its stability, the Colony Devil Gundam proceeded to implode on itself, with only its framework surviving the blast.

Powers and Abilities[]

Vulcan Guns[]

Like most of the Gundam in the Future Century era, the Devil Gundam is armed with four vulcan guns to fire at close range.

Beam Cannon[]

A high-energy output beam cannon, meant to be used against targets from afar. The Devil Gundam fires this weapon from its fingertips in the anime, while in various video games, it can be fired from its head, shoulders, and torso as well.

Devil Finger[]

Massive claws that appear in Devil Gundam's final form.

Self-Evolution[]

Given enough time and energy, the Devil Gundam can evolve into more powerful forms, with this ability being enhanced if the live battery unit is female. The Devil Gundam can also grant this ability to other Gundam, causing the evolution of mobile suits such as the Kowloon Gundam and Nobel Gundam into the Master Gundam and Walter Gundam respectively.

Self-Regeneration[]

With a live battery, the Devil Gundam is capable of regenerating itself, being able to heal from any wound inflicted onto it. This ability also allows it to reanimate corpses.

Self-Replication[]

This ability allows the Devil Gundam to generate its own army, using its self-generated clones as its minions. The Death Army, its many variants, and the Gundam Heads are several examples of this.
