Deputy Winter is one of the main antagonists of the 1990 film Murder in Mississippi. He is the fictionized portrayal of the real Lawrence A. Reiney.

He is portrayed in by Royce D. Applegate.

In this movie he threatens Schwerner and Cheney (Goodman is not in the movie) in a nasty cold-blooded fashion. The cop and his gang, in the forrest, right before they shoot each of them, don't even give them any mercy. They shoot them in a cinematic fashion, one after the other (giving us a symbolic shot of a black man and white man's hands holding each other).
