Dark Helmet is the main, later secondary antagonist in the famous Star Wars spoof "Spaceballs". He is a less intelligent and more pathetic version of Darth Vader. He holds grudges easily and seems to make an enemy out of everyone.

When Planet Spaceball runs out of air, President Skroob sends Dark Helmet to kidnap the princess, and use her as leverage to steal all the air.
Tortures
Dark Helmet will attack anyone who threatens his power by use of the Schwartz. He sticks his hand out and sends out a laser with his all powerful, mystical ring. Whatever motion he make with his hand will happen to the person. One example is the laser shot to his minion's groin and if you watched carefully he closes and rotates his hand. Because of this, whenever he confronts one of his minions, they cover their groin.
Animated series
Dark Helmet in the animated series.
He was once Panakin Crybaby but became Dark Helmet because he needed the president to make a helmet for him to cover up a bump on his head (according to the animated series).

- Dark Helmet is portrayed by Rick Moranis.
- Dark Helmet is based on Darth Vader.
- Dark Helmet is the main antagonist early on, but when President Skroob emerges, Helmet is reduced to the secondary main antagonist since Skroob had bigger plans and acts more like Helmet's boss.
