Cyprian Wiley, also known as Whoreson Junior, is one of the four top crime lords of Novigrad and a major antagonist in the video game The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt.

He was voiced by Ewan Bailey.

Biography[]

Past[]

Wiley was born to Alonso "Whoreson Senior" Wiley, who was a crime boss from Novigrad. As a child, he was often bullied and beaten by his father and finally decided to put an end to it. Wiley hired mercenaries to murder his father and took over his father's criminal empire under the name "Whoreson Junior" and then took over his criminal sources of income include an illegal battle arena in the sewers outside Gildorf, illegal brothels and casino near temple guard towers. As one of the most powerful crime bosses in Novigrad, Junior became a member of an alliance of other crime bosses sometime around 1267 and 1272, the Big Four, which included Junior, the beggar king Francis Bedlam, the dwarf Carlo "Cleaver" Varese, and Sigi Reuven under the guise of Sigismund Dijkstra .

The Big Four divided Novigrad between them, and they formed a council known as the Syndicate in order to discuss important events in the city and thus strive for order throughout the city. At the same time, Junior maintained a lucrative partnership with the Eternal Fire hierarch Hemmelfart; Hemmelfart sold him religious fanatics of the eternal fire to fight in his arenas.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt[]

One day, Junior met Ciri and Dandelion, who needed his help in repairing the magical phylactery, which caused him to lose contacts who knew about magic. Junior used this to demand that the two steal and then bring him Sigi Reuven's treasure. After Ciri and Dandelion managed to steal Sigi Reuvan's treasure, they lost it to the leader of the temple guard, Caleb Menge. Wiley tortured and mutilated the doppler for not wanting to reveal information about them. Luckily for the doppler, Ciri defeats Wiley and then saves him. After Ciri defeated Junior and freed Dudu, his men came to see if Junior was okay, but Dudu impersonated the incapacitated Wiley to distract himself and escape.

Unlike his father, Whoreson Junior had no intention of working with the rest of the criminals and wanted to eliminate them. So he teamed up with King Radovid V of Redania, who thus managed to use the war between the half-witnesses of the Big Four to cause chaos in Novigrad so that he could take over the city-state.

Geralt of Rivia, in his search for Ciri and Dandelion, came to Junior after long and exhausting search and wiping out all of his thugs. Geralt was utterly disgusted when he witnessed how Junior had been treating women. Thinking that he may have done the same to Ciri, Geralt, infuriated to no end, started to beat up Junior out of rage. After getting the information he wanted, Geralt could either put an end to his life right on the spot or let him live, only to be brought down by his former associates and left to rot in the streets.

Journal entry[]

Cyprian Wiley the younger was one of Novigrad's most dangerous criminals. He had inherited his father's casinos. fighting ring and brothels - as well as the old man's sadistic tendencies, ruthlessness and lack of scruples.

These traits had made the moniker "Whoreson" something of a family heirloom for his powerful criminal clan.

Cyprian also took after his father in terms of ambition. He broke the unwritten armistice between Novigrad's various criminal groups and tried to murder the other three leading underworld bosses.

Whoreson's audacity had a very specific cause - King Radovid. who had commissioned the gangster's actions.

As it turned out. Radovid's plan was for Whoreson to start a gang war in Novigrad. In the resulting chaos. Radovid would take control of the city with ease.

While searching Cyprian's home den of iniquity. Geralt discovered the nickname "Whoreson" was in fact an understatement - something much stronger was needed to describe a man who delighted in murdering captive women.

If Geralt spares him:

Though few would have mourned his passing. Geralt decided not to kill Whoreson. As soon as Radovid withdrew his protection and his old enemies were free to exact revenge. Whoreson's career was doomed to an inglorious end.

If Geralt kills him:

In addition to blackmail, extortion, murder and torture, the list of Whoreson's crimes also included trying to harm Ciri. Geralt took this very personally and made the bandit pay for this last sin with his life.
