This planet is now under the control of... Lord Hater!
~ Commander Peepers' first quote.
I'm sorry, sir, but it's true! You wasted so much time chasing him around the universe that you've lost any standing you had as a real villain. And now there's bad guys everywhere taking over all the territory you lost! You're more like twenty-ninth greatest in the galaxy, which is why we need to get back in the game and conquer as many planets as possible!
~ Commander Peepers criticizing his own master for his obsession with Wander.
Nothing ever changes.
~ Commander Peepers' final quote.

Commander Peepers is a major character in the 2013 Disney television series Wander Over Yonder. He is Lord Hater's right hand man and the commander of the Watchdogs.

He was voiced by Tom Kenny, who also voiced General McGuffin in the same show, Patches in The Powerpuff Girls, Chester in Codename: Kids Next Door, Mumbo Jumbo in Teen Titans, Dr. Two-Brains in WordGirl, Starscream in Transformers: Animated, the Ice King in Adventure Time, Reverend Rosty in Brickleberry, Doctor Octopus in Ultimate Spider-Man and Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. and Benito Mussolini in Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio.

Appearance[]

Commander Peepers is a Watchdog, a small alien with an eyeball for a head. He wears a helmet with a massive lightning bolt in order to stand out from the other Watchdogs. He has pink skin under his black suit, which when taken off, shows that he is extremely buff.

Biography[]

Peepers serves as Lord Hater's number one henchman, adviser, and second-in-command. He is also the leader of the Watchdogs. Like Hater, he opposes Wander and Sylvia but does not hold as big a grudge against them. He is extremely loyal to Hater, though often under-appreciated for his work. He and Hater get along quite well, although Hater claims they aren't friends. Peepers is always coming up with plans that often go ignored and also comforts Hater and acts as his voice of reason. He and Hater are always disagreeing over how to conquer the galaxy. Peepers thinks that Wander is no more than a little annoyance and insists the warlord ignore him and focus more on the conquest, but Hater is too obsessed with destroying Wander and does not listen to his suggestions. Because of this, Peppers, despite his loyalty, starts getting agitated by Hater's desire to kill Wander.

He also protects and suggests Hater against their villainy rivals. For example, he aids his leader when shooting at Awesome's troops and suggests he not show off for Lord Dominator and wait to confront her when they are best prepared (despite Hater's strong feelings for her).

Personality[]

Commander Peepers is a strong-willed, loyal, and very assertive individual. He puts up with Lord Hater's whining and incompetency and still sticks by him anyways and continues to assist his galactical conquest. He shows a huge amount of care and concern towards Hater, but can grow very impatient him. Many a time Peepers has yelled at Hater for acting idiotic and egotistical in ways that could ruin Hater's reputation and chances of conquering the galaxy, such as constantly obsessing over trying to defeat Wander or trying to impress Lord Dominator. Sort of like a caring parent.

He loves to conjure up schemes and shows massive enthusiasm whilst explaining them to Lord Hater and the Watchdogs. When interrupted he becomes frustrated and even angry.

With his fellow Watchdogs, Peepers is often impatient and abusive. He talks down to them and provides them physical harm when they aren't up to snuff. He calls them incompetent when they fail, and will even hit and punch them around. This leads to many Watchdogs not liking him at all.

Peepers is willing to do many things for the greater good, such as teaming up with Sylvia in the episode The Battle Royale in order to save Hater from Lord Dominator whilst she saves Wander from both of the villains' fighting.

However, he is shown to have self-esteem issues. He sleeps with headphones that play positive sentences like, "You are tall." or "You are strong". When Hater fires him in The Axe, he becomes sad and loses his loud, angry demeanor.
