Clarence Devereux is the main-turned-secondary antagonist of Anthony Horowitz's Sherlock Holmes spin-off Moriarty.
Character
Clarence Devereux was an exceptionally intelligent and ruthless barbarian of the worst kind. His criminal methods were extremely violent and lacked any of what Professor Moriarty described as 'sportsmanship'. His advantage is the fact that he is completely anonymous - quite like Moriarty, ironically - and his physical features are utterly unknown. His only known characteristic is the fact that he is agoraphobic (An intense fear of the outside world) for which reason he is not seen at all outside. Devereux will never stray from stooping disgracefully low, and will go so far as kidnap a child to extort his enemies into doing his bidding.
