Cattivik is the protagonist of the eponymous comics created by the Italian cartoonist Bonvi. He is one of the cartoonist's many creations, however, it was brought to success by his pupil Silver, another Italian cartoonist. Cattivik is a grotesque and hapless thief in black tights.

Background[]
Cattivik, a character originating from the imagination of Silver, is a clumsy petty thief who resides in the sewers of an anonymous city. Though his exact location is not fixed, jokes and slang passages sometimes hint at connections to Milan, Naples, or Modena, with the latter being Silver's hometown.
Positioning himself as an anti-hero and victim of the system, Cattivik displays a love of bad taste. Despite his irascible and sometimes ignorant nature, he fearlessly engages in criminal activities, ranging from stealing precious jewellery to snatching purses from elderly ladies. Cattivik also calls himself Il Genio del Male (The Genius of Evil).
Cattivik always appears dressed in tight black tights, he lives in the city sewers from which he emerges at night, moving around hopping and snickering, to perpetrate thefts and robberies that he very often fails to carry out. He has a way of speaking characterised by the truncation of the last letter of the word he is pronouncing.
Weaponry[]
Cattivik usually uses a large wooden hammer to rob people, but occasionally a knife or even a semi-automatic pistol.
Immortality[]
Another peculiar characteristic of Cattivik is his immortality: no matter how badly he is beaten up, shot, maimed, run over, crushed, dismembered, chopped up and even dissolved in acid in each story, he punctually returns intact within a couple of cartoons.
Trivia[]
- Bonvi used to say "Cattivik is an ink stain! It doesn't matter who or what he is, the important thing is that he dirties!".
- This criminal stain has however had four phases of graphic evolution up to now; in the period when Bonvi was still drawing him Cattivik had the resemblance of a pepper, later, under the aegis of Silver, his shape was thinned out resembling first a pear and then an aubergine.
- Lastly, the numerous draughtsmen who have edited Cattivik in recent years have given him the silhouette of a chestnut and considerably shrunk him.
