Characters and organizations that are depicted as being involving in the distribution or creation of snuff films. In popular culture, the term can apply to villains who enjoy watching others being murdered in often sadistic and torturous ways.
Usually, to be a true "snuff film," profit must be involved, but the term can also be used (somewhat wrongly) to describe anyone who records murder as entertainment and/or business.
