Bruno Tattaglia is a fictional character and one of the main antagonists in Mario Puzo's novel The Godfather.
In the novel, he is son of Don Phillip Tattaglia and Tattaglia capo. He have a relationship with Virgil Sollozzo. They ordered and assisted a hit on Vito Corleone. In Francis Ford Coppola's film adaptation, he was portrayed by Tony Giorgio.
Killing Luca Brasi
Bruno and Sollozzo (Al Lettieri) met Luca Brasi (Lenny Montana) in his nightclub. They talking about the deal with Vito Corleone and about joining the Tattaglia crime family for 50000$ and Luca agreed. Then assassin jumps in and choked Luca to death.
Partnership with Sollozzo and Death
Bruno later provided assistance to Sollozzo via police captain Mark McCluskey, who became Sollozzo's most trusted bodyguard and assisted a hit on Vito Corleone and tried to finish him off. His attempt failed and Sonny Corleone ordered to Sal Tessio (Abe Vigoda) and his men a hit to kill Bruno. Tessio and his men drive to his house and killed Bruno. Sal Tessio described the hit as occurring at "four o'clock this morning" at his home.
