The Black Beast of Argh is the quinary antagonist of the satirical movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
It is a legendary beast (which is ironically green-colored) who awaits and consumes anyone who enters the cave guarded by the Rabbit of Caerbannog, where the last words of Joseph of Arimathea can be found carved inside. It briefly seen when it revealing it's face on a cave that King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table passed during the journey for an enchanter that would guide them for the cave that guarded by Rabbit of Caerbannog. After killing Rabbit of Caerbannog, King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table found the engraving of Joseph of Arimathea and had Maynard to dechiper it. There, one of the knights, whom spotted the monster as he turned around, screamed in horror. Hilariously, the others believed him to incorrectly mentioned the monster's name, and started a brief argument. Eventually, all of them turned around simultaneously and realized what the screaming knight mean. Brother Maynard shouts the monster's name in horror as it devoured him alive, before it chased after King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table.
As the horrendous black beast lunged forward, escape for Arthur seemed hopeless... when suddenly, the animator suffered a fatal heart attack. Upon such narration, the scene switched into an animator who keeled over and fell to the ground dead, and as Arthur escaped, the beast stopped and dissolved, ceasing to exist. The cartoon peril was no more. The quest for the Holy Grail could continue.
Behavior and Traits
The monster obviously behaves much like other terrifying man-eating monsters such as Dinocroc or Supergator, where all of them are relentless in the pursuit for their prey, particulary humans. It's unknown whether it also rivaled Rabbit of Caerbannog or not considering the fact that they were man-eating beasts.
The beast's appearance is obviously reptillian albeit only having two legs, with numerous eyes and teeth, brown hair on it's head, and a pair of horns. Though the depiction supposedly showed him as terrifying beast, it instead depicted as the hilariously ugly monster that is not so horrifying.
