The Assassin is a minor antagonist in God of War: Betrayal.
Biography[]
After Kratos managed to defeat Argos for the final time, he decided to head towards the sewers to finish off Argos once and for all. But when he caught up to Argos, a nameless assassin appeared and killed off Argos. He did this to frame Kratos for the death of Argos, angering Hera as Argos was her pet. Kratos proceeded to follow the Assassin all over Greece.
While he was chasing the Assassin, several creatures that appeared to be Hades' creatures appeared and attack Kratos. When Kratos managed to reach the top of the tower, the Assassin disappeared and Ceryx appeared. After Kratos killed Ceryx, the Assassin managed to escape Kratos and wasn't seen again.
Trivia[]
- There have been rumors that the Assassin might be the messenger God, Hermes, given his abilities of incredible speed, agility, and being able to hide from Kratos.
- Assuming it was Hermes, Kratos later killed him in God of III.
