~ Armand Isard |
Armand Isard is a minor antagonist in Star Wars. However, his only true antagonistic role was the short story Interlude at Darknell, in which he sent his daughter Ysanne Isard to recover the plans of the Death Star. Thanks to former Senator Garm Bel Iblis and CorSec agent Valin "Hal" Horn, Isard's mission failed. To save face in front of the Emperor, Iceheart betrayed her father. The Director of Imperial Intelligence was executed within the hour. Despite Iceheart's accusations, it is unlikely that Isard really had Rebel Alliance sympathies. Besides the Interlude at Darknell, Isard has appeared in Clone Wars-era novels and as the Director of Republic Intelligence, usually seen among Supreme Chancellor Palpatine's advisors and later in the comics as one of the Emperor's advisors. As seen in Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader, after Palpatine became Emperor, Isard became the first Director of Imperial Intelligence.
