Agent Thompson is an antagonist in The Matrix series, being a major antagonist in The Matrix Reloaded. He is a high-ranking Agent and is a cohort of Agent Johnson and Agent Jackson.

He was played by Matt McColm.

Biography

Creation

Thompson was required to defeat Neo so he can prevent the One from reaching the Architect. He worked alongside Johnson and Jackson; altogether the trio were determined to keep the Matrix under control.

Encountering Agent Smith

Thompson appeared when Neo was in the midst of battling against Agent Smith and his escalating army of clones. He prepares to intervene until Smith stops him and Thompson could only react horrifically before Smith proceeds to absorb him, rendering Thompson into a Smith clone - even though Thompson manages to survive due to his abilities as an Agent.

Highway Attack

Thompson later appears when he aids his cohorts in attacking the Resistance during a highway pursuit to kill the Keymaker, even attempting to fight against the Twins sent by The Merovingian to capture the Keymaker. Though both failed as Neo managed to rescue them.

Nuclear Power Plant

Thompson and his cohorts encountered Neo one last time at the power plant and blew it up. While Neo reencounters Smith for another confrontation, Trinity secretly infiltrates a back-up power station and fights her way into the building to destroy it. Thompson, however, uncovers her tracks and confronts her - compromising her mission in the process. The duo engages in a brawl in which Thompson gets the upper hand when Jackson arrives to aid him. As Trinity escapes, Thompson follows and the pair shoot at each other as they both fall down into the ground. Thompson manages to shoot Trinity moments before Neo flies in to save her, and Thompson is instantly killed when the building crashes onto him.
